Ukraine's armed forces have shot down six Russian fighter jets in just three days, according to the country's Ministry of Defense.
The ministry said in a statement on X, formerly Twitter, that Ukraine on Monday destroyed two Russian jets—an Su-34 fighter-bomber and an Su-35S fighter jet.
"Russian planes continue to fall! This morning, defenders of the sky shot down two russian planes in the eastern direction—a Su-34 fighter-bomber and a Su-35 fighter," it said. "In 3 days, Ukraine destroyed 6 russian jets."
The news comes after the Commander of the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Mykola Oleshchuk, said Ukraine destroyed four Russian military aircraft over the weekend.

It sure didn’t happen in the Avdiivka area as the Russians had uncontested control of the skies. This, and no counter battery artillery led to the collapse and rout of the Uke defense. Of course, the Ukes wouldn’t place air defenses capable of shooting down six Ruskies to help avert the Avdiika catastrophe. FRiend, I believe you have a big ole shovel full of disinfo there.

Who said it was anywhere near Avdiivka? Why is that central to your counterargument? Unless you just want an excuse to bring it up, which is pretty sad. The video attached to the article shows an orc helicopter fishing one of the pilots out of the Black Sea (he does not appear to be swimming…)

Ukraine wanted to join NATO, which would no longer be a buffer for Russia with its common border many hundreds of mile long.

The Russians are very pleased you and our deluded political class feel that way. It gives them the green light to take, at a minimum, everything east of the Dnieper river and Odessa.
