Moscow officials announced Saturday said they had taken control of Avdiivka. Ukrainian forces confirmed pulling out of the bombed-out city in what amounted to a triumph for the Kremlin even though the four-month battle was costly.
The victory was a morale boost for Russia, days ahead of the two-year anniversary of its full-scale invasion of its neighbor on Feb. 24 2022. For Ukraine, the rout was a bleak reminder of its reliance on the supply of Western weapons and ammunition, as hold-ups in the delivery of expected aid have left it short of provisions and handicapped in the fight.

This is actually a more important vid. Australian foreign fighter (not a foot soldier, much higher up) gives a detailed account on the state of the war, and why he had to leave. He is a Ukraine supporter obviously. Dishes the good and the bad. The last 4 minutes are good for a quick listen. The whole thing is good.

They estimate Russia lost about 47,000 soldiers in this attack. It’s not hard to believe if you watch the videos from the battlefield. It’s hellish.

The only nazis in Ukraine are the Russians. Even if half the things you say about the Ukes are true the truth is that itis not about Ukraine it is about Russia which is a the most dangerous, predatory, aggressive threat to the peace of the world. And you are obviously a supporter of them.

I don’t know who “they” would be but the Australian military strategist who was helping Ukraine in the second link says Ukrainian families are now sending their third sons to the front, as the first two are dead. He does say there is still hope but doesn’t have nice things to say about the military leadership he has been advising. He said they stupidly waited too late to dig defensive trenches and the ground had frozen. You’d think they would understand their own weather.
