Not precisely germaine, but part of my story. In a former life a friend and I, who grew up on neighboring farms worked at a Fortune 500 co; he as Chief Industrial Designer and I as a Mfg. Engr. One day he and I were reminiscing that a few years prior he and I had been walking around in cow manure. When the VP of sales walked up and asked what we were discussing, we frankly told him. He said, “Boys, never be ashamed of where you came from. My father came from Italy to Chicago, and worked in a factory sewing pockets in overcoats.
