Elon Musk Picks Apart The Trump Civil Case Verdict With One Simple Question
X and Trending Politics News ^ | Elon Musk

Posted on 02/17/2024 2:57:41 PM PST by NoLibZone

X and SpaceX owner Elon Musk dismissed the verdict in Trump’s civil fraud case by simply asking who the supposed victim was if all of the loans granted to Trump were paid back with interest.

In a rather unsurprising move, the former was found liable in New York Attorney General Letitia James’ civil suit brought against Trump and his companies. Trump was ordered to “pay back” more than $350 million after the years-long case brought forward by an attorney general who campaigned on “getting Trump” came to a close.

Musk responded with a simple question in an X post. “Given that there were no victims with losses, who is supposed to receive the money?” asked Musk.

Now states can grab assets in any instance THEY determine a harm has occurred

They could take your house because you exaggerated income on your mortgage application 30 years ago.

Despite having paid it off , without so much as a single late payment.

Despite the lender having no issues.

Kind of a catch-22. If he overpaid, he should file for a refund. That’d be fun to watch.

Why can’t some NY judge do the same thing to Musk? Just arbitrarily declare a summary judgement against Musk for $10 trillion. That’ll fix him.

So he paid taxes on the estimated value of the property and loan? Who is the injured party? No one.
He deserves a tax refund.

Yep. This is a frightening ruling that needs to be overturned.

The Democrats are so desperate to get Trump, they're opening up so many Pandora's boxes that are going to come back to haunt them.

Given that the State and City are broke, well they are coming up with new sources of revenue. After all under Communism, the State owns everything!

Seems to me if everything was over-valued. And there were not “victims.”

Then shouldn’t Trump be the one getting some sort of refund from the property tax assessor? Refund from the insurance companies? Refund from the bank for over charging him on a bad loan amount?

If I said the property was worth a million and you agreed and loaned me the million, but the property was only really worth 25,000...and I paid the million, who defrauded who? It would appear to me that Trump is the victim here having overpaid for properties, property taxes, etc.

If everyone agreed to the value of the property at the time of the loan and it was paid....what are we doing here? All parties agreed and signed to the documents.

I still don't understand this verdict. Aren't our property taxes determined by the county assessor? We don't pay property tax on our own opinion of our property's worth, but on its assessed value.

Similarly, I assume that insurance companies do their own evaluation of how much a property is worth when they establish insurance rates for that property. And how would overestimating the value of your property get you lower tax rates or lower insurance premiums? Furthermore, no bank or insurance company claimed that Trump cheated them. None of this makes sense except as a personal vendetta and repulsive sideshow of media grandstanding by a corrupt, partisan judge.

Successful real estate magnates are sharks. They have to be. So I presume they are all watching this and saying look, if this is the court determined valuation of this property owned by Trump, well I have this property on 83rd and ... and it's similar to Trump's and my tax assessment has been 5 times that number. I should get back all of those excess taxes charged over the years by the fraudsters in the city tax office.

Try to get Trump and bankrupt the government of NYC instead.

“There was room for thirteen families in your house, Dr. Zhivago” crowed the old crone Marxist block leader who had moved into the family home in Moscow. Don’t think they won’t pull it here.
