The Biden administration is preparing to send bombs and other weapons to Israel that would add to its military arsenal even as the U.S. pushes for a ceasefire in Gaza, the Wall Street Journal reported on Friday, citing current and former U.S. officials.
The proposed arms delivery includes roughly a thousand each of MK-82 bombs, KMU-572 Joint Direct Attack Munitions that add precision guidance to bombs, and FMU-139 bomb fuses, the Journal reported, adding that the value of is estimated to be 'tens of millions of dollars.'
The proposed delivery is still being internally reviewed by the administration, the report added, citing a U.S. official, who said the details of the proposal could change before the administration notifies congressional committee leaders who would need to approve the transfer.
The U.S. State Department and Defense Department, Israel Defense Forces and Israel Defense Ministry have not immediately responded to the report.
However, there are a growing number of U.S. government employees who are firmly opposed to a continued support of Israel in the war.

One day there will be enough Muslims in America to send all of our aid to Mecca and Iran. But for the time being, there seems to be enough Christians in America left to still support Israel.
I would much rather have America give Israel a one-time interest-free loan for her to rebuild and re-equip her arms industry that WE had her abandon with our worthless promise to supply her whatever she needed with our feckless and wish -washy aid. If you understood the long-term goals of Islam, you would understand that THEIR war is actually OUR war as well. Our choices are to surrender, convert or fight. Islam wants to wipe out all vestiges of the infidels from the earth. They are certainly not shy about stating their goals.
In this case, we are helping Israelis do the actual fighting. But it is not their fight alone.

Average per capita income in Israel is $23,000 a year, in the U.S. 20,000. Their citizens are richer than ours, yet we pay! Yeah, being chumps keeps the Palestinians out of Jersey. What in God’s Name does that have to do with why our grandchildren, who are $34 Trillion in debt, are borrowing to give billions to the Israelis who are richer than we are and who are, relatively speaking, out of debt? If you want to address that, have at it. Otherwise, set up your soapbox in front of someone else.
Articles go for sensationalism and are always light on facts. Weapons sent to any country are not just for the security of that country. They are intended to keep the American weapons industrial base up and running efficiently. If you want the capacity to build X units of some war material, then the US’s use of that material is not enough to keep that line employed. If the people on that line are not building something, they get laid off. Then, when the US desperately needs a hundred thousand of X on the front line, there is no capacity to build it. The reason “taxpayer” money is used is that taxpayer money gets recycled into our economy as paychecks, which buy mortgages, and groceries, and cars. If the US didn’t give that money to other countries with the stipulation they spend it here, then they’d spend their own money in their own economy. Therefore, Uncle Sam gives what amounts to a prepaid debit card to our allies with the proviso they spend it here. This policy is the entire reason the US has the war capacity it has. Where it has failed utterly is in shipbuilding. We can’t even repair the ships we have.
