Michael Cohen, a former personal attorney for Donald Trump, said Friday on MSNBC’s “Deadline” that the former president can not afford the New York City civil fraud trial judgment against him.
Cohen said, “Where does he come up with $355 million? That’s exclusive of the $86 million or $88.6 million that he owes to E. Jean Carroll in that civil case. This is a staggering amount of money for virtually anybody, maybe there’s a handful of people in the entire country who can afford to write a check for half a billion dollars, Donald is not one of them. Right now the pressing issue if he’s going to appeal, how does he appeal? Does he put up a cash bond? Where is he getting the cash bond from? He’s not going to find somebody to bond it for him. He couldn’t find somebody to bond $5.3 million in the E. Jean Carroll case.”

Just watched the first segment on NewsNation with Chris Cuomo. Chris had two attorneys on - names I didn’t recognize but all were of the same mind including Chris:
Who was victimized - by Trump?
Who was hurt - by Trump?
Who lost money - because of Trump?
It’s a proven record that banks love to do business with Trump.
Seems the fine is punishment for Trump’s refusal to admit he did something wrong - refuses to say he made a mistake. All admited there is nothing in the law that covers such missteps or mistakes.
As stated by me and others over and over but apparently never occurring to the NY AG, financial institutions do not use client’s numbers for their asset values. They do their own assessments.
Must be in NY, one could go to the bank tomorrow and fill out a loan with their property as collateral and state it’s worth at least $5,000,000.00 while it may be a hunting cabin on a lake in the mountains that’s worth $5,000.00. I pick NY not only because that’s where this case took place but also because there are tons of hunting cabins in the mountains in NY...
Left out (heavy sarcasm)
IF TRUMP- ERIC & DONALD JR can NOT do any business ijn NY for 3/2 years respectively——
WHO IS GOING TO SIGN PAYCHECKS FOR ALL THEIR EMPLOYEES & PAY ALL VENDORS & LOAN PAYMENTS?????
TRUMP HAS TO BE CLOSE TO THE BIGGEST EMPLOYER IN THE WHOLE STATE.
These people lie more easily than they breath.
The net worth of Donald Trump. Forbes has estimated his wealth for decades and estimates it at $2.6 billion as of 2024.
He will likely not be paying that amount if any at all once the appeal rejects the ruling. Even still I think he can afford it.
Trump just made $10 billion in a stock deal. All he has to do is sell some stock.
But hell, sell Trump Tower and get out of NYC, then make a couple of comments about how NYC real estate is over priced and show some video of all the empty commercial real estate in Chelsea and the rich areas of Manhattan.
NYC will look like “The Warriors” again in 2 years.
BS, once this is appealed to a NON-DEMOCRAT court, it will be tossed out like the garbage it is.

He will ask the underwriter of the Truth Social deal to lend him the cash with 3-5X collateral coverage or he may put Mar-a-Lago up as collateral to prove how valuable it is.
He just made $4 billion in his truth social tech stock today, I’m sure this verdict had nothing to do with it. I’m sure his poll numbers ascended as well.
Avenatti, their fave, was all tied up somewhere, they had to settle for Cohen.
Another Chris Christy, without the baggage.
Given real estate is a moving target, I had him at between $4-8bln before this windfall.
People have no idea how big his empire is. He employs 10s of thousands.
There’s so many examples here every day.
I think there’s four on the first page right now.
It will be appealed.
>he may put Mar-a-Lago up as collateral to prove how valuable it is.
Wouldn’t that be a blast. There’s a zillow of a 1/8 acre lot in Palm Beach that’s 40 mil.
He’s just repeating the hate-Trump gang’s talking points.
Judgement vs actually paying it........
