Of course. First they need to find someone who will sleep with the department head and can spell “computer”. Next that “consultant” will need to wait for the department head to gather enough cash to pay for vacation trips together. Then and only then can the consultant start billing for 25 hours of work per day to start to fix the issue….
I bet that those computers also contain the voter registration database.
Wanna know what “scary” is? One of the big hospital and healthcare systems here in Texas (UTHealth) was brought down by a cyber attack, and it took them months to recover. It was a nightmare for the patients. Appointments were lost. No more online services for patients. Doctors couldn’t access patient records. Lab results lost. The patients like us who kept track of their appointments were the lucky ones. You couldn’t reach anyone by phone, because with the online system down, all anyone could do was call. And, the phone lines stayed busy.
