Schumer credits Trump for Suozzi win — as Dems cite ‘proof’ they can flip border script

WASHINGTON — Prominent New York-area Democrats celebrated Rep-elect Tom Suozzi’s Tuesday night victory over Republican rival Mazi Pilip as a sign that they can win the US-Mexico border policy debate while tying swing-district rivals to ex-President Donald Trump.

“There were reports that Republicans hired snow plows in Republican precincts to make it easier for voters, but Suozzi won because no matter what, Republicans couldn’t plow through their biggest obstacle, Donald Trump,” Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) told reporters.

Trump “blocked a bipartisan deal to strengthen our border and stem a crisis and voters knew it,” Schumer said.

The GOP lost last night, because after putting up a complete POS last time, the lead to the situation that required the special election in the first place, voters were NEVER ever going to choose GOP again to replace the person the GOP should have never ran in the first place.

Its really no more complicated than that. Actions have consequences, you put up someone one is such a complete POS that they get expelled from the house... something that has only happened (now) 6 times in history, you really thing those same voters are going to vote for your parties replacement for them?

The GOP of NY didn’t even do the most basic vetting of this guy, and set up the situation that lead to all this, you really think the voters were going to reward them for that big of a EFF up? Hell no.

There was ZERO chance the GOP was going to win that election regardless of who they ran.

People trying to tell you this is some bellweather for the fall are just idiots. This district has only voted GOP for president once since it was put into its current configuration and that was GWB’s re-election year. Every other presidential election it has voted D... to try to say this district is a bellweather at all is laughable, and to try to claim this particular special election is indicative of anything in the national politic is just moronic.
