Does anyone think the Chinese economic and demographic problems now are so severe and so existential that they may attempt some previously unthinkable act to improve their position? Could that be what this is about?

China is crashing economically and can't produce enough food for their own population. A fair number of the illegals crossing our southern border are military age Chinese. They have the appearance of fit soldiers in plain clothes.
