As Thomas Sowell pointed out, the true minimum wage is zero.

That makes the first rung of the career ladder unreachable for most of the poorest constituents who the Leftists say they represent.
Also, I heard that many upper level union jobs are by contract paid X times minimum wage.
If true, that makes it rather self serving.

Democrats HATE the little people. The Republican opponent should promise $100.00 per hour!

Lee’s proposal would make it so minimum wage workers earn $104,000 annually. Lee's proposal would make it illegal for anyone whose labor is not worth $50 per hour to work.

Years ago I used to make the argument that the minimum wage should be $50 an hour. It was supposed to be satire. Looks like I need to work for the Bee. 🤣

Obviously it won’t happen. If it did happen, then the price of everything will dramatically increase thereby offsetting the wage gain, but causing chaos, supply chain disruptions, massive inflation, layoffs and more in the interim - until the dust settles. Which would take years.

If a state does this the cost of everything from a hamburger to a head of lettuce will jump 2 to 2.5x overnight. The state would empty out and it’s economy would collapse within 2-3 months. It would be actual mayhem.

The Democrats don’t give a shit about the youth. The reason they push for higher minimum wages is because many union contracts are pegged to the minimum wage. Raise the minimum wage in raise union wages. They’re looking out for their own.

As Thomas Sowell pointed out, the true minimum wage is zero. Well, no. Some people pay for permission to come to work.
It's long been a practice among certain Los Angeles theater companies, and low budget films, to sell parts to actors as a way of raising production funds. There have even been companies built on that business model.
Essentially, actors paying for the chance to work. In hopes of being seen, and discovered, and then being hired for money.

They are already whining about an $18 hamburger. How about a $50 hamburger with another $20 for a drink and fries.
