Blockbuster hearing could be key moment in Fulton Trump case
AJC ^ | 02/12/2024

A hearing this week could prove to be a defining moment for Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis and her election interference case.

For the first time since misconduct allegations surfaced against Willis, the judge overseeing the case will weigh in. Fulton County Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee has scheduled an evidentiary hearing for February 15 to consider a motion from defendant Mike Roman that seeks to disqualify Willis and her office from the case and for the criminal charges against him to be dropped.

Roman is arguing that Willis improperly benefitted financially from the case, which has ensnared former President Donald Trump and 14 other remaining defendants, citing her romantic relationship with one of the case’s special prosecutors, Nathan Wade.

Roman’s accusations have upended the case over the last month, transforming one of the country’s most high-profile criminal prosecutions into a personal, increasingly bitter knife fight.

Blockbuster

give it the old tick....tock... Maybe it could be a Hannity bombshell [those are so weak they don't even blow up in Hannity's face but he's probably been saved by all the 99% honest FBI agents just trying to do right by the American people].

I’m not a lawyer, nor a bird of any kind, but I do remember that the charges stem from a phone call that President Trump made into Fulton County, Georgia. So if you should call anyone in Atlanta, be very careful of what you say over the phone. You could be facing felony charges.

How nice

The case to dismiss is being heard by one of the co-conspirators

McAfee should indict himself

“So if you should call anyone in Atlanta, be very careful of what you say over the phone”

All the Red states should start indicting GA government people whenever they call for routine LE info or whatever.

Conspiracy, yuh know.

Here’s the key question in my mind. Did she prosecute Trump in order to justify hiring outside counsel, which happened to be her lover, in order to receive financial benefit from the prosecution? No prosecution, no extra money for her boyfriend, no financial benefit to her.

She may be the one guilty of racketeering.

Just the usual incestuous nest of leftist vipers covering for each other’s evil deeds. Expect more of the same.

Exactly, might as well have Hunter conduct this “blockbuster” hearing.

Here is the ruling that the judge will issue:

  1. No reasonable prosecutor would indict Fani Willis.
  2. Willis would be a sympathetic defendant to the jury.
  3. Hasn't Nathan Wade suffered enough?

Whereas before his "accusations," it was a sweet, friendly little kangaroo party.

Fulton County Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee was an assistant district attorney in the Barrow County, Georgia, Piedmont Judicial Circuit. He joined the office of the district attorney in Fulton County, Georgia, in April 2015, initially working on the early stages of criminal cases. He later was promoted to working as a prosecutor in the complex trial division, which was then headed by prosecutor Fani Willis, who was later elected as Fulton County district attorney. McAfee was eventually promoted to senior assistant district attorney in the major case division, where he prosecuted felony cases including armed robbery and murder.

In 2019, McAfee was appointed as an assistant United States Attorney for the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia. He worked in the criminal division where he investigated and prosecuted drug trafficking organizations, fraud, and illegal firearms possession. On April 1, 2021, Georgia governor Brian Kemp appointed McAfee as the state inspector general.

In December 2022, Kemp appointed McAfee to the Fulton County Superior Court following Christopher S. Brasher's retirement. He was sworn in on February 1, 2023.

In August 2023, he was assigned to preside over the racketeering case, State of Georgia v. Donald J. Trump, et al, in which former president Donald Trump and 18 co-defendants are accused of conspiring to overturn the Georgia presidential election results. Fani Willis is overseeing the prosecution of that case.

McAfee is running for election to a full four-year term as a state judge in May 2024.

Compromised? Will McAfee rule against his former boss?

This seems like the perfect opportunity to end this mess and provide cover for Kemp and company. No doubt Kemp wants this buried and having a judge toss this out would be the way to have it done.

I’m leaning toward this judge either ending this mess by tossing the case or ruling a change in prosecutor is necessary. If the later then the GA panel will then decide where to prosecute this or they may as well decide to toss the entire thing.

As of today I have no doubt Trump will be elected POTUS in Nov and for a fact Georgia pols does not want this still hanging around.

But the judge worked for Willis. Will he rule against his old boss? And Kemp hates Trump. He will do anything to screw him. TDS trumps the law and fairness.

Honestly I don’t think she intentionally concocted this scheme for the express purpose of embezzling county, state and federal funds. She did it for political purposes. But she either saw the opportunity to exploit it for personal gain, or someone explained to her how it would benefit her career AND how should could skim a little for herself.

The judge may not think it’s a big deal but the appearance of impropriety is great. Prosecutors are already operating outside the ethical lines - this is particularly egregious. Political prosecution, to benefit the party, with the DNC/WH involved in consultations (possible Hatch Act violation with all those WH meetings), political interference, and graft all wrapped up here. This should be grounds for punitive actions and even if the trial judge does nothing, a higher court could consider these circumstances on appeal - if there is a conviction.

I’m not just for disqualifying Willis. I’m for disqualifying the WHOLE DA’s office in Fulton County. They’ve already shown to me they’re incapable of conducting the prosecution without bias or shenanigans. From what I see, no one in her office officially complained about it. It took threats from Wade’s wife’s divorce case to bring to light.

This judge and Kemp have future political aspirations. So, do you hang your future on Fani or Trump? Kemp wants to be Senator, and the Judge wants to move on up and the way I see it both need to distant themselves from Fani as far as possible. That is why I think this whole mess goes down in flames.
