White Tennessee Democrat Congressman Steve Cohen was incensed that Super Bowl fans did not stand in respect for what he called the “Negro National Anthem” during Sunday night’s big game.
As it has for the last several championship games, the NFL opened the Super Bowl with the song “Life Every Voice and Sing,” which many agitators have proclaimed to be “the black national anthem.”
Of course, it isn’t a “national anthem” at all, but regardless, Congressman Cohen was not happy that the video of fans in the stands showed that not many were standing as R&B singer Andra Day performed the popular song.
He quickly jumped to his X account to scold the fans.
“Very very few stood at Super Bowl for ‘Lift Every Voice and Sing’. The Negro National Anthem. Not a pretty picture of Super Bowl crowd,” he wrote.

Let’s go ask Julius Malema about let’s kill the Boer.
He can fill a 95,000 seat stadium with ALL singing the anthem.

“...go to Liberia. It’s a country that was set up for the American black...”
The irony of Liberia was that the American blacks saw themselves as civilized and viewed the local natives as primitives. Caused a lot problems more than a century later.

Did not know that.
Turns out the Argentines have one as well, and named a province after it.
The one I mentioned upthread is in Brazil.

I, too, was wondering just WHERE this nation “Negro” is, and why some foreign nation’s national anthem was being played at an American sports championship game.

I remember when Whitney Housten sang the National Anthem and I was anticipating her virtuoso showing off. Then she sang it so beautifully I choked up.
Only Chris Stapleton has truly nailed it since.
