Poland Angrily Responds to Putin's Claims About Hitler and World War II
Newsweek ^ | Feb. 9, 2024 | Aila Slisco

Posted on 02/10/2024 1:02:42 AM PST by canuck_conservative

... The Russian president argued that Poland was to blame for Hitler's decision to invade, claiming the Warsaw "went too far" by balking at the annexation of part of its territory.

Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski suggested in a post to X, formerly Twitter, on Friday that Putin was "paranoid" and called it "shocking" that Carlson "enabled" the Russian president by giving him a platform to spread his false claims and rhetoric.

Sikorski .. also noted that Hitler was joined in invading Poland by the Soviet Union, which was an ally to Nazi Germany for nearly the first two years of the war...

According to a verified translation of Putin's remarks during the Carlson interview, the Russian president claimed that Poland "forced" Hitler to invade by being "uncooperative" with Nazi demands to take territories including Polish city Gdańsk, then known as Danzig.

"[Poland] rejected Hitler's demands," Putin said. "Since [Poland] did not give up the Danzig corridor, the Poles nevertheless forced him. They got carried away and forced Hitler to start the Second World War against them first." ...

Putin's claim that Hitler had "no choice" but to invade Poland is not supported by historical evidence.

According to The National WWII Museum, Hitler set the stage for the invasion by making "it look as if the Poles had provoked the hostilities and the SS obliged by staging numerous false-flag operations and 'Polish provocations' against Germans."

The Russian president's 2022 annexation of parts of Ukraine prompted some to draw parallels with Hitler's actions during the early days of World War II.

Notably, Hitler justified Germany's ambitions to take Gdańsk/Danzig by citing the large number of pro-Nazi German speakers in the city at the time, a similar argument to Putin's claims about Russian speakers in Ukraine's Donbas region....

It’s a good thing that Tucker let Putin ramble this insane viewpoint for the American public to see.

Maybe now a few of the pro Russian knuckleheads around here will see that he’s not the savior of Western Civilization he claims to be.

Considering and Tucker should have asked him about Stalin and the massacre of the ENTIRE Polish Army officer leadership including all the generals in Katyn- some 10,000 human beings— Putin’s claims show what an A@@ he really is, a facile lying ex KGB/Stasi East German pal.

It was the Nazis btw who did the complete unearthing of the Polish army corpses with classic KGB bullets to back of the head as cause of death. Appalling. And of course Stalin denied it- however since the Archives have been opened Stalin’s signed ORDER is well on record.

Kind of agree with Boris Johnson’s assessment of Tucker’s “interview” as ludicrous. Tucker isn’t as smart as he thinks he is and needs to lay off the chewing tobacco running his mouth.

Peaceful neighbor…like Kosovo?

Yeah, the U.S. killed hundreds of thousands, and then annexed Kosovo, ri-ight?

Your comparison is odious!

No, the Communist/Soviet rant that Soviets fought hard against Nazis does not elaborate that it was Stalin’s ruthless destruction of his Army leadership and murder of his own troops motivated the “fighting hard” BS.

Once Stalin recovered from Barbarossa- he reversed the Comintern’s instructions to US and UK Communists to begin to support “joining the Allies”. FDR is said to be “clever” in letting Stalin take the brunt of the slaughter (another misapplied assessment of the “brilliance” of the a@@hole FDR Socialist who share much of Leftist Nazi policy and beliefs as did and still does the US State Department. All about power and demonrat control of production through govt.)

The topping applied at Nuremburg was the Soviets trying to say they cared about the Jewish Holocaust (clearly this worked in their favor, but they shared Stalin’s Georgian view that Jews were to be eliminated, just like “rich” peasant kulak farmers were in the Holodomor and elsewhere in post Lenin Soviet Russia. A prison country).

You argument only talks about the end stage. You’re saying that anyone that has it holds it but what about the previous victims? You can’t moralizes arguments either hold your land or you don’t.

I don’t need to convince you of anything since Russia is going to take what it wants of Ukraine anyway precisely because your hero Biden is a vegetable.

In 1945-1989 Poland the schools in Poland did not teach the truth on what happened August 1939 to June 1941 in Soviet-Poland relations. For the past 30+ years it’s totally different. For starts, look at how schools in Poland handled the Katyn Forest massacre.

What’s also taught to the Polish children is that the Soviets forced their parents and grandparents to be taught such lies in the schools during 1945-1989 & when the kids learn this they go home to dad, mom, unclear, aunts, grandparent, and others who confirm this.

A similar situation is told throughout much of Central Europe, including most of Ukraine. Such distrust of Russia isn’t going to go away anytime soon in Central Europe.

But yeah the Russians don’t blame themselves. They think they are right & the good honest Christians. It’s pathetic.

This song “Prayer” well expresses this :( https://youtu.be/8rEuLvdLs0A?si=g0mLH9OwOq9k3RZt

You are going to give us a Hah-vud map drawn up at the hight of the CIA coup in the Ukraine? That map is a product of a misinformation campaign made in an attempt to delegitimize Russian and Russians.

Next you will be telling us the Ukrainians are actually Han Chinese.

Hey, miniFux:

Yes he did, literally. Listen to his words in Russian, in your native language. He said that Hitler had no choice (forced) but to start the WW2 because Poles provoked him. That’s Putin’ position from the beginning of the war: “we were forced”, we are the “victims”, that’s why “we” call it “special military operation”.

He’s got into this historical minefield trying to draw parallel with his decision to invade Ukraine. In doing so, he inevitably draw parallel between himself and Hitler. Huge, huge mistake on his part…. Just proves how shallow, uneducated and politically impotent person he is, thank you, Tucker.

“pro Russian knuckleheads around here will see that he’s not the savior of Western Civilization he claims to be.”

There is a void that Putin can appear to fill.

It’s hard to find a leader in the world who speaks up for Western civilization. When Christians are systematically murdered in Africa or elsewhere, who speaks up? Does anyone speak up for Whites in Africa or any place else for that matter? If a genocide of Whites commences in South Africa, who will welcome those who escape?

In our own country, many of our elites may see no difference between citizen and non-citizen. They’re all just people after all. Illegal immigrants were great at picking lettuce. Now they are great for lawn-care, construction, and childcare. Pesky citizens expect higher wages and mutual respect. The view from above is pleasant indeed.

You know the vast majority of people are so ignorant of the history of the area that they don’t know any better and would believe that BS. We’ve seen that kind of ignorance of the history every day as the neocon Globohomo stooges get hoodwinked into supporting this murderous, unprovoked proxy war.

When I visited Ukraine in 2017 I didn’t see any anti-Russian sentiments but I presume that if Ukrainians were loving the Russians back then that this love has faded for many Ukrainians since this Special Military Operation started almost 2 years ago.

That may be true now, but wasn't back in the early 1900's when my grandparents came here. And they held to that their whole lives. They were UKRAINIAN, not Russian.

And hated the Poles.

LOL, educate yourself. Ukrainian census records from 1897, 1926, etc are accessible to all, and they show that in 1897 Ukraine had a 73% Ukrainian ethnicity. In 1926 a 77% Ukrainian ethnicity.

Another $60 Billion on its way to a thoroughly corrupt Ukraine while the Neo-Cons argue over who in Europe hates who and who started WW II, not to mention censoring Tucker Carlson. Meantime an increasingly mentally unhinged America, led by a drooling senile crook, continues on its merry path to social and financial collapse.

I don’t give a flying flip about Poland, Ukraine, and Neo-Cons. My country is dying before my eyes.

LOL, German soldiers meeting Polish soldiers is just like The Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact, between Hitler and Stalin that secretly divided Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and Finland between themselves.

Ironically, its the ONLY agreement the Russians never broke.

I, too, think that the interview is a plus. I am sure it was highly staged and controlled, but seeing someone speak in their own words is far better than what the distorted American “press” gives us.

I don’t believe that Putin has as many, or as committed, supporters around here, as you suggest.

I carry more animosity for the factions within the US behind this, than any love for Putin. I believe that Putin made it clear that he is rather pleased that these factions are destroying America.

Americans are not being told, and Putin would not be believed to tell, what the Democrats were doing in Ukraine. Hillary Clinton was in charge of NATO expansion during her tenure as SOS. I believe that this was used to enrich her, and not to protect Americans.

We can all see, today, how corrupt America’s alphabet agencies have become.

One thing seemed clear to me from the interview - Putin is not going to save the US from its own internal corruption and the abuse of power which is overtaking it. We have to do that, and we don’t really need either Putin or the Ukraine to do it. This is all deflection, which is probably why it was chosen by the Left, in the first place.

Hitler did fake a Polish border incursion by dressing dead concentration camp prisoners in Polish uniforms. This was his ‘Casus Belli’ in the propaganda films for invading Polnd.
