The decision to confer Ukraine's highest state award on Zaluzhniy is a sign that Zelenskyy's team are trying to signal unity and respect for Zaluzhnyi after removing him as commander of the armed forces. It was announced in a decree on the president's website.
Polls have indicated that Zaluzhnyi commands a larger share of the public's trust than Zelenskyy. There is no hard data yet on the public response to his removal but many Ukrainians have openly questioned his sacking on social media.
The military shakeup followed months of speculation of a rift between Ukraine's two most prominent wartime figures over their visions for the war against Russia, which is about to enter its third year.

He'll need it to flee farther from Zaluzhnyi's friends and loyalists, however, he will hang by his heels eventually.

True, but when he announced publicly Ukraine must now go on the defensive, he is sacked and replaced by a General who has a history of getting encircled by the Russians, ( three seperate engagements), the first time in the Donbass in 2015…..gotta keep feeding Vlad more meat…so much for Ukie logic.
Yes, it is true General Zhalushny is a Neo- Nazi supporter at the least, his recent photo showed a poster of Bandera in the background….the Ukies Nazi problem is firmly entrenched, no idea how Vlad will solve that issue.
And, now he gets to go off to London to be an ambassador to the UK and live in one of the mansions our tax dollars helped pay for!
General Zaluzhny and General Budanov (who rejected Zaluzhny’s post) are sympathetic to the Banderites and Azovs, which means both generals will likely have a role in the coup against Zelensky later this year.

I see you, like me, follow the war. Interesting, non western press believes Zaluzhny was sacked because he would unseat St Zelensky in a vote by Ukrainians-much too popular….but as we know, St Zelensky cancelled the upcoming elections.
That said, I do believe someone in their military tired of the Ukie slaughter and destruction of Ukraine will do him in. Secondary belief is our CIA will engineer a coup ( like Maidan-2014) to remove him and place leadership in power that is willing to negotiate an end.
The US saves face, washes their hands and will some how declare victory.
We shall see, what we do know, with the Ukie failed offensive and the fall of Avidivka, time is short for the Ukies and collective West….their current course ensures Ivan will be rolling up to the Dniepner…..

More like Zelensky is scared Shiiteless that Zaluzhnyi will overthrow him and then work with the Russians to put an end to this war.
Zaluzhnyi is a realist. He knows that the Russians are not giving up in the war of attrition. So he'll sign a ceasefire
