MOSCOW (Sputnik) - US journalist Tucker Carlson, after his interview with Russian President Vladimir Putin, shared his impression of the Russian leader and the discussion as a whole, mentioning that he got the impression that the politician is "very wounded by the rejection of the West" and angry about it.
"The United States doesn't like Russia, the US government doesn't like Russia. I think, like a lot of Russians, he expected the end of the Cold War would be sort of Russia's invitation into Europe, or sort of into Europe, because it is a European country that's half an Asia. But there is a lot that is European about it, and if you come to Moscow, it's a very European city, you see it and you can feel it culturally. And the West rejected Russia," Tucker Carlson said.
"The West was determined not to be allied with Russia, that's very obvious. That's the whole point of NATO, I guess, is to contain Russia. And Putin is wounded by this, he's very upset about this. His eyes flashed when we talked about that," Carlson explained in a video published on his website, adding that the Russian president is "angry" and is "mad about it," he added.
Carlson said his interview with Putin began with "an extremely detailed history going back to the 9th century of the formation of Russia from the tribes into a nation, and Ukraine's part in that," which was "really interesting" and "got much more interesting once I realized what it was, which is a window into how he thinks about the region." The media personality also showed a thick "old-fashioned" folder with documents handed over to him by the Russian president and called it his "nighttime reading."
The journalist called Putin "smart" but noted that the Russian president.........

If nothing else, it is a remarkably refreshing instance of listening, which the legacy media has proven itself to be wholly incapable.
On the other hand, Tucker got Putin to publicly offer up an explicit overture for a negotiated settlement along the lines of the Turkish agreement that Biden and Boris Johnson torpedoed at the last minute 18 months ago.
That's pretty generous. I can't believe that Putin would still accept that deal after all that has transpired since.
Going after Glenn Greenwald’s career. Rather pitiful.
Putin is the worst thing that happened to Russia post-communism.
He is the problem.
The longer NATO denies the obvious, the more Ukes get killed, the more Uke territory will be lost. The hundreds of thousands of casualties since the Istanbul agreement got quashed are the complete responsibility of those idiots in DC.
“That’s pretty generous.”
Hey, you know what? I’m feeling generous today! How about I come over to your place, seize 20% of what you own, kill a few of your kids and then generously keep whatever I can manage to steal?
Trump wanted to work with Russia for the good of both countries and the world. That was just one of the reasons that the left tried to destroy Trump.
Good for journalist Tucker Carlson. A breath of fresh air.

Hrmm...
Let me react with a fictitious example. I made it as childish as possible to make a few infiltrated FSB enthusiasts here on FR understand it more easily.
If I have a house with 9 bedrooms and a gang from Mexico suddenly appears illegally taking three of them using overwhelming force, triggering me to defend my home with all means at my disposal - as I bitterly try to retake my three rooms (giving the gangsters some hard time)... they then make me an offer:
- “Hey man, we are a peaceful gang! We are willing to give you one bedroom back - on the condition you sign a contract with us making the two other bedrooms remain ours. It’s a fair deal!” Sign here now!”

That is roughly Putin’s logic.
In a typical socialist way he takes other people’s lands and private properties, than he says he is ready to negotiate to give some crumbs back the “deplorable Ukrainian Freedom First” victims. The Kremlin is behaving according to hardcore mafia tactics.
Ukraine needs all Donbas back and all of Crimea back.
The only thing that is negotiable is the amount of money (war-reparations) Russia must pay Ukraine. One Trillion dollars? It can be paid with free oil to Ukraine for the next decades.
European countries and America ay be guilty of missing opportunities to draw Russia into a closer co-operation, but at the same time, they would have intel not shared with the general public about what really happened in various events early in Putin’s rule such as the supposed terror attacks in moscow and the Ruslan school siege, and these understandings could well explain a reluctance to take any word of Putin at face value. I don’t think the guy has advanced his thinking much from the 1980s and his KGB service days. I wouldn’t trust him, and I wouldn’t want to share NATO military secrets with him either. If he feels rejected, he has nobody to blame but himself, but then on the other hand, why would he want closer ties with the current leadership of NATO countries?
It is a riddle wrapped in an enigma, I believe.

Clowns who can’t even produce artillery ammunition are in no position to “demand” foreign militaries to do anything.
For people who want some comic relief on how decayed the DC Globohomo Regime is:
One of the reasons there is such delays in producing additional shells is because the Scranton Factory is part of a “Heritage Historic Site”. So no additional building is allowed.
The additional factory space is in Mesquite, Texas. In an industrial park that has no rail access, and no heavy duty electrical supply.

He looked like a fool. Putin’s puppet. Embarrassing.

Those Russian lands will not go back.
I had never listened to Putin before and was glad to hear him speak and was interested in getting his perspective on the whole situation. It gives some insight into why he is doing what he is doing.
I was not impressed with his attitude towards China. They are our enemies and not to be trusted. Perhaps their relationship with Russia is different, but if he trusts them, that is very foolish.
President Trumpneeds to see if thier is a way to de-couple Russia and China, and un do the neo- con damage of pushing them together.
Excellent article. I heartily agree with everything said. Sadly, this whole interview process reveals how utterly shameful and deceitful the US government has become. The Deep State has its evil claws tightly wrapped around the very heart and soul of this country.
Maybe you could try looking at the world as an American and not the Russian mad murderer Putin.
Yeah that slaughtering destructive pig is real “generous” after getting his ass handed to him for over two years of fighting a two week military operation.
Putin is the opposite of “generous”.

The very first comment this thread, and as of post 19, still the best.
The areas taken by Putin are more than 50% Ethnic Russians. The Ukraine is a dictatorship instituted by President Obama. Biden kept provoking Putin by talking about the Ukraine joining NATO. Just the facts. I do not know what Putin thinks, but I do know that the DEMONRATS have shown that they are insane with hatred of all things Russian. Trump understood Putin, Biden understands nothing!
