Zelensky has been impatient with Zaluzhny for some time. My surmise is that he is being sacked for not being aggressive enough, just like Mattis sacked a Colonel during the initial Iraq invasion when he paused due to casualties. The first time he got a tongue lashing, the second time he was relieved of command.
