Sounds OK to me. He might be the best you’re ever going to see as a Republican senator from a state like Maryland.
Ditto.
Maryland is dominated politically by the City of Baltimore and Montgomery and PG counties. The rest of the state is purple and, if you get far enough west of the I-270 commuter sewer, parts of it are staunchly red. Three Republican House seats should be a reasonable baseline, with four possible in a good year. Maryland from time to time manages to elect a moderate Republican governor. One would think it should be able to elect a moderate Republican Senator in a good year.
But still, the reality is that Trump is an anchor around the necks of Republicans in most of the state. We are better off with a Larry Hogan than with anyone the dems might vomit up.
Exactly. Hogan is extremely popular in Maryland and very well could win a Senate seat. A Trump Republican is not going to win in Maryland. So the choice is Hogan or a Democrat. I know some people will say there is no difference but there is - Hogan at least will vote for Republican leadership. In some states, that’s not good enough. In Maryland, it is.
We'd be better off with a Democrat than a vain, belligerent Trump hating ingrate like Hogan. He's like Christie with a side of crabcakes and beer. He got lots of practice collaborating with a Dem legislature in Maryland; old habits die hard. At least a Dem would be more honest about that one thing: their political leanings.
