Virginia’s House passed a ban an “assault weapons” ban last week and the Senate followed suit on Wednesday of this week, which means an “assault weapons” ban is now headed to Gov. Glenn Youngkin’s (R) desk.
Breitbart News reported that the ‘assault weapons’ legislation, House Bill 2 and companion bill Senate Bill 2, targets semiautomatic centerfire rifles and semiautomatic centerfire pistols with threaded barrels and semiautomatic shotguns, if the shotguns have “a pistol grip that protrudes conspicuously beneath the action of the shotgun … the ability to accept a detachable magazine … [or] a fixed magazine capacity in excess of seven rounds.”

Any word on how Youngkin views this infringement on 2nd amendment?
Do they have enough votes to override it?
Only tyrants disarm their citizens.....every single gun law or bill is an act of treason!!
All unconstitutional....
The Dems hold a bare majority. Now it's up to the RINO's to push it over.
We are fixing to find out if Gov. Youngkin is good for anything.
And, of course, those RINOS are going either not know or not care that some of the “assault weapons” they’re about to ban are plinkers and hunting rifles.
Not even close.
Bang!
If he vetoes l’m Pretty sure they don’t have the votes to override, the rats only have a 1 vote majority in one of the houses.
My thoughts exactly.
A slingshot or spit wad straw IS AN ‘ASSAULT WEAPON’ BY THEIR MEASURE..................
The sc needs to do 2 things, make it known that even fully automatic weapons are allowed, and they need to define assault weapon, and ban any laws that disregard the true definition of assault weapon, and ban any ,aw that severely restricts any types of rifles. The definition of an assault weapon is and always has been ‘any select fire weapon that is capable of fully automatic fire as one of the choices’ (paraphrased)- but the left are trying to redefine the term to make it seem as thouhg they are more deadly and therefore should not be available to the public.
Any bill that tries to ban weapons under the asinine term of “assault weapons” should be null and void and thrown out.
Even fully automatic rifles are allowed- as the should be by all rights! If this nation is ever invaded by foreign enemies, we are going to be really hurting because of how crippled the left have made things with their asinine laws- the left don’t get to redefine what “assault weapon” means, and make any gun that has “scary looking add ons” into an assault weapon and ban them.
It says a lot about our state governments when they approve sending millions of actual assau,t weapons to the Ukraine to repell foreign enemies, but turn around and deny us the right to adequate self and national protection.
These have been available to the public for over 100 years.
It says a lot about the citizens who allow their senator and representative to support such a position, too.
Only a hoplophobe would consider a five round shotgun an assault weapon. I had one of those and didn’t even know it was an assault weapon when I lost it in that boating accident.
EC
The entire urban destruction plan was implemented to give the govt an excuse to disarm us. Here it comes.
Dad had an old Remington (I think) 12 gauge that could hold 7 shells. Had a wooden plug that had to stay in it so it could only hold 3, IIRC. Kicked like mule too, a padded shooting jacket was required or you would have a blue/purple shoulder after a good Quail hunt.

My dad had a Browning Sweet 16. Semiautomatic, 3 shot magazine.
That would be banned under such a law…
