Also, there’s no solid evidence that formal teacher preparation programs have any significant influence on student results. An “iron triangle” of government, unions, and colleges of education seek to create the impression that good teaching results from intensifying the field’s professional qualifications. Yet centuries of common sense suggest this is not true.
