The week Trump seized unmatched control over the GOP (delicious piece)
Politico ^ | 2/9/24 | Christopher Cadelago and Adam Wren

RENO, Nevada — Donald Trump long ago bent the Republican Party to his will. But seldom has the sheer sweep of the former president’s dominance been laid bare more clearly than this week.

In one 72-hour span, Trump led the charge to crush a painstakingly negotiated border-security deal in Congress, pushed the Republican National Committee chair to the exits and, in Nevada, embarrassed his last remaining rival in the presidential primary. But

The heaviness of Trump’s hand was felt across the country — as was the conspiratorial, “Stop the Steal” tenor of the party lining up behind him.

On Thursday — the same day Trump romped in the Nevada caucuses orchestrated by a state party whose chair was indicted after falsely claiming to be an elector for Trump in 2020 — the Supreme Court appeared to veer sharply in Trump’s favor in a case challenging his eligibility to run for president.

“He’s got a stronghold,” said Amy Tarkanian, a former chair of the Nevada Republican Party. “It’s not just on the Republican base, but also in the House. I don't know how to explain it. It’s completely mind-boggling to me, the type of brainwashing that has been done.”

Hehehe. They think trump is running the show when the people have demanded a trump to correct the system... I have been waiting a long time for this correction in our leadership.

“Donald Trump long ago bent the Republican Party to his will.”

No, he just picked up a handful of issues that resonate with the people but not the uniparty. Those issues were there for years, Trump was just the first to grab them.

And it addition, the DOJ seems to have decided that Biden is not competent to hold office at the present time. But Biden is clearly going to fight that and hold on to his hopes for November. So Trump’s opponent will be a senile old codger who can’t remember anything and who throws a tantrum if you tell him he’s done.

Politico may not like Trump very much, but they do stand in awe of the power he wields even if only as a candidate.

But to even IMAGINE that Biden is anything like a bulwark against this force of nature that is Donald J. Trump, is spitting into the wind. It will take every wile and guile of the Deep State to turn him aside, if that task is even possible.

It is Donald Trump’s party now, if there ever was any doubt, and it is the biggest and most challenging organization in which he has ever been the chief operating officer. And he has honed his skills in management to a degree unmatched since the days of Charlemagne.

At least we have brains to wash. From what I see it looks like the majority of democrats have been brain donors. Don’t know who got their brains but my guess is all the recipients rejected them.

Fun article on Amy Tarkanian. Apparently, she liked helping Democrats get elected.

Exactly. They think Trump is the cause. No. Trump is the consequence. We have been disgusted by the RINOs weakness, corruption, duplicity and selling out to the Democrats for many many years. The Democrats and their propagandists want to call it “Trumpism”. No. It was there long before Trump and will continue to be there long after Trump is gone.

In the meantime I enjoy watching President Trump carry the banner and drive Leftists completely insane while doing so.

Deep State gets it.

Deep State has always gotten it.

That’s why Trump is THE enemy of the Deep State.

Because he’s choosing to stand between them and us.

We’ve been hunting down and tossing out RINOs for a few years now. We’re going to do it again in November. Remaining RINOs are starting to get worried. They have damn good reason to be worried. We’re coming for them.

“Trump is us!!!”

Yup.

It is staring them in the face—and they can’t see it.

The reason is because—as a blogger said the other day—”They are not the revolution. They are the Empire.”

When you are the Empire you are on auto-pilot and can’t see anything.

Actually no. There are fewer Dems now. The more people we drive to the polls, the better for Trump. Trump leads with all voters.

The justice dept.. Garland.. was appointed to the Supreme Court by Obama to fill a vacancy. Congress had to vote on this one, and it didn’t happen. Shortly after Trump became President, he appointed Gorsuch.
Reckon Garland is trying to get even?

It’s called being a leader and Trump is the epitome of leadership. People keep forgetting he is one of the best project managers on the planet, understands SWOT and PESTLE analysis better than anyone on the planet, has an information network that spans the globe and has a knack for walking the talk and especially being right about pretty much everything he talks about.

This scares bureaucrats and regressive politicians to death.
