Marching quickly under a cloudy sky on Sunday, Russian troops infiltrated Avdiivka.
Four months after a pair of Russian field armies, together with 40,000 troops and thousands of vehicles, first attacked toward Avdiivka—a Ukrainian stronghold just northwest of Russian-occupied Donetsk in eastern Ukraine—the long, bloody campaign may be culminating.
“The situation in the city has become critical,” Ukrainian journalist Andriy Tsaplienko wrote.
If the campaign does culminate, and the Russians prevail, it will be clear who largely is to blame: Russia-aligned Republicans in the U.S. Congress, who last fall began blockading U.S. aid to Ukraine and, as a consequence, starved Ukrainian troops of the ammunition they depend on to match the Russians’ own firepower.
“Avdiivka urgently needs fresh reserves and rotation of units,” Ukrainian correspondent Yuriy Butusov explained Sunday. “Ammunition is also necessary—supplies are also extremely small [and] the enemy has a great advantage.”

I guess the Republicans can be blamed for the West being out of weapons, along with the Democrats, but it was STILL the Democrats who caused this war to start and REFUSED to end it, even when Ukraine wanted it to end, nearly 2 years ago.
I thought that Hungary dropped its block of EU -> Ukraine funding of about 50 billion Euros.
Also, I would think any EU country can independently donate money to Ukraine.
Ukraine should be able to make its own basic ammo.
Frankly, I just don’t GAF anymore. We can’t afford to take care of our ppl, provide for the influx of impoverished, uneducated illegals overrunning the border, and stop the rampant crime that’s destroying major cities, let alone borrow more money to fight the Ukrainians’ battles.
I'm just sayin'...
So sit in the back of the room, shut up, and let the adults run the show.
Stay in your own lane, 2020 Chad.
Forbes’ site won’t load for me - firewall doesn’t like it.
Is there actual evidence that the Red Army has taken Avdiivka, or are they just launching off Moscow’s propaganda?
Other threads had been saying this wasn't so, for perhaps not having come across the Forbes article.
From it one reads "the blame game." That is, "If the campaign does culminate, and the Russians prevail, it will be clear who largely is to blame: Russia-aligned Republicans in the U.S. Congress, who last fall began blockading U.S. aid to Ukraine and, as a consequence, starved Ukrainian troops of the ammunition they depend on to match the Russians’ own firepower."
Yup. Those darn rascal Republicans again! < s a r c >
Israel got resupplied under an emergency authority where Israel promised to pay for the shells in future.
DC could do that for Ukraine, if they wanted to.
They have lots of old cluster bombs, still. Millions, likely.
(note: each 155mm shell has approx 80 cluster munitions)

I think Globohomo has decided to pull the plug on Ukraine, and put the blame on Repubs.
Wait, is that the Ukraine getting involved in internal American politics? Eff ‘em.
Like you’re an adult? Ha
We should have never been within 5000 miles of this proxy crap show but it makes my skin crawl to see the idiots in DC talk our supposed ally out on the limb and then saw the limb off. It’s the same damnable double cross we did in 1975.
You forgot Extreme MAGA Republicans.
