It’s alien to our journalists to ask a question and then listen to a long thoughtful detail filled answer.

They like the Hannity and MadCow technique of arguing and shouting down.

Hannity's "interview" technique -- which isn't uncommon in U.S. media -- is: (1) aimed at an audience with the attention span of a paramecium, and (2) conducted on behalf of a media outlet that is trying to cram 20-26 minutes of advertising spots into a 60-minute program slot.

This explains why TV and radio media in the U.S. sounds utterly retarded compared to what it was even just a few decades ago.
