Hawaii's highest court ruled Wednesday that Second Amendment rights as interpreted by the U.S. Supreme Court do not extend to Hawaii citizens, citing the "spirit of Aloha."
In the ruling, which was penned by Hawaii Supreme Court Justice Todd Eddins, the court determined that states "retain the authority to require" individuals to hold proper permits before carrying firearms in public. The decision also concluded that the Hawaii Constitution broadly "does not afford a right to carry firearms in public places for self defense," further pointing to the "spirit of Aloha" and even quoting HBO's TV drama "The Wire."
"Article I, section 17 of the Hawaii Constitution mirrors the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution," the Hawaii Supreme Court decision states. "We read those words differently than the current United States Supreme Court. We hold that in Hawaii there is no state constitutional right to carry a firearm in public."

This case will likely be struck down by a higher court.
Yes. The spirit of aloha - also know as the spirit of lazy, pagan, whitey hating, pot heads - burned up all those people.

Do we remove and reinter the bodies of those lost in WW2, especially
7 December. What do we do with the Arizon?
>There’s a good observatory there but I’m not sure what else.
The diving is nice if you can tolerate the anti-white loons on the surface. The lava tubes are pretty cool too.
IMHO we don’t chest thump enough about sinking the I-70. It’s one thing to mourn our dead. It’s another to mark the moment we started saying we’re starting to fight back and gonna make them regret attacking us.
When some psycho criminal is pointing a weapon at you, “Aloha” means goodbye.
I soon expect the People’s Republic of Minnesota to similarly declare that “Minnesota nice” precludes the Second Amendment
This is the consequence of the Supremes dereliction of duty from the 2020 election onward in support of the “get Trump” effort. Also their halfhearted measures in the “Bake the Cake” cases did the same thing.
Everyone sees weakness and now they have state supreme courts overruling them because Aloha, the edicts of king Kamemameha in 1810, TV shows etc. Amy Conehead Barrett and Roberts need to pull their heads outta their ass and start enforcing some discipline in our court system.
Yeah. The folks in the DC projects were friendlier than most people in Honoruru.
What do you know?
Turns out “Aloha” means “Seig Heil”.
It seems that the Court said that the interpretation of the 2nd Amendment by the U.S. Supreme Court do not extend to Hawaii citizens, citing the “spirit of Aloha.”.
Citing the word “Hawaii Citizens”, does that extend/include Law Enforcement as well; or does Law Enforcement have to be non-citizens or foreign nationals.
If I remember correctly, a former United States President agreed with a UN Resolution to allow United Nations Troops to be stationed in the US. If the above is true, is there a possibility of foreign troops in Hawaii to maintain “The Spirit of Aloha”?
Cut ‘em loose. See how well they float around in the Pacific on their own..
Restore the Monarchy, and turn them loose.
We should call this guy Todd the Twirp.
If there was no United States Constitution, he wouldn’t be anywhere near Hawaii and certainly not playing Judge there.
All of those things come from us.
If he’d like to secede and go back to Hawaiian control, I think a) the Hawaiians would love that and b) they’ll get rid of him the next day.
Oh I think there’s a few more we could get rid of.
Very Wrong indeed! The Bill of Rights is not limited to State “selectivity” honoring those rights. The Bill of Right s is not, in any portion to be denied to citizens of the State, and as such of the United States.
2nd Amendment rights may include limits of State regulation of the ownership of firearms (as is the case in many but certainly not all states), legal use, etc. The basic tenet of the 2nd Amendment is that the RIGHT shall not be INFRINGED (meaning the Right of the People- All the People to keep and bear arms, not just firearms— may not be infringed). State supreme courts do not supercede SCOTUS and prior legal decisions. PERIOD. Black book LAW!
“Too bad there is no federal way to remove state court judges.”
It’s the same as when a cop violates someone’s civil rights under color of law. DOJ (under Trump) needs to arrest and prosecute these judges.
Cut off all federal grants.
Roberts and the Supremes need to make the Federal Judges out there that ANY support of this Hawaiian insurrection needs to meet a brick wall or they will start the removal process with the Speaker.
How many divisions do they have?
