Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk slammed U.S. Republicans for blocking a bill containing billions in military assistance for Ukraine.
“Dear Republican Senators of America. Ronald Reagan, who helped millions of us to win back our freedom and independence, must be turning in his grave today,” Tusk wrote Thursday morning on X. “Shame on you.”
After months of negotiations, Republican senators on Wednesday blocked a $118 billion bipartisan package that includes $60 billion in military assistance for Kyiv.
U.S. President Joe Biden has been urging Congress to push through with the funding for Ukraine, which has been stalled in Congress for months amid Republican disagreements over border policy. But former President Donald Trump has been encouraging lawmakers to reject the bill.

According to your logic, the US should still be part of the British Empire.
Do you eat kippers for breakfast and get all misty-eyed when you hear “God Save The King” on the radio, or TV?
Don’t say that you love me.
Just tell me that you want me.
Tusk!
And yet Reagan armed Afghan in its war against the Russian invaders.
Try to be consistent.
George HW Bush may be turning over in his grave but Reagan certainly isn’t.
F him for sure. But don’t mistake him speaking for all Poles. Just a few years ago Duda was offering to build (and pay for) Fort Trump to the full support of a majority of Poles.
Tusk brings Polish Jokes back into style.
He’s not Polish, he’s Volksdeutsche.
True, that's why he brings Polish Jokes back into style!
Ukraine was the invasion route for Army Group South in 1941.
Allowing a hostile alliance like NATO to get on that border north of Kharkiv would be absolute treason for any Russian leader to allow.

Good point.
It had some of the same goals, wear down the USSR and encourage them to leave Afghanistan.
This occurred early in Reagan’s tenure. It was an extension/expansion of Carter’s covert support. With plenty of unfortunate side-effects that remain with us today.
Later in Reagan’s tenure he worked hard to negotiate with USSR to reduce threats or improve relations while maintaining America’s strength. I imagine Reagan would have negotiated with Russia to find a solution to avoid the Ukrainian war. Similar to how he worked with the USSR in the various nuke treaties (which aggravated plenty of persons on the right).
Thinking about it, I imagine if Trump remained President he would have avoided the war with Russia by negotiating a security agreement that Putin could live with.
In contrast, Biden/NATO/EU did everything they could to get Russia to invade Ukraine.
Though to be honest, it is likely that as soon as Trump left the white house after a second term, the neo-cons would come back in power, execute a coup in Ukraine (if necessary) and get the war drums beating again. (Just like we witnessed)
I’m a big Reagan fan. That being said, he made some monumental mistakes.
For instance, sending the Marines to Lebanon was a huge error, and cost some 250 US lives.
And he got rolled by the Dems when he “negotiated” the 1986 immigration bill with Tip O’Neill.
Dems are like the Russians: Trust but verify. However, Reagan only applied that standard to the Russians, and not to the Democrats.
Still, I consider (in my humble opinion) that he was — overall — the best president of the 20th century.
You’re being too generous. Tusk is a classic globalist, leftist EU bureaucrat and WEF-lover. That makes him much lower than a “greasy little pustule.”
Do you eat kippers for breakfast
They got to have them in Texas.
How dare him speak for Ronald Reagan!
Correct.
I actually like kippers; but as a snack: NOT for breakfast.
I was in uniform when Reagan was POTUS. The Cold War taught us well that the Europeans are great allies. They're always there when they need us.
90% of us could not care less about you and your constant babble. Go join up with the Ukies if this bothers you.
Thank you for a comment completely lacking substance.
You’re good at that obviously and luckily I do not suffer from that problem.
That you don’t listen to intelligent people pretty much sums it up.
