Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk slammed U.S. Republicans for blocking a bill containing billions in military assistance for Ukraine.

“Dear Republican Senators of America. Ronald Reagan, who helped millions of us to win back our freedom and independence, must be turning in his grave today,” Tusk wrote Thursday morning on X. “Shame on you.”

After months of negotiations, Republican senators on Wednesday blocked a $118 billion bipartisan package that includes $60 billion in military assistance for Kyiv.

U.S. President Joe Biden has been urging Congress to push through with the funding for Ukraine, which has been stalled in Congress for months amid Republican disagreements over border policy. But former President Donald Trump has been encouraging lawmakers to reject the bill.

Bringing up Reagan again I see. I doubt Reagan would have signed this POS bill. Tusk can shove it.

Well, if bringing up (impugning, imho) Reagan doesn’t work, there’s always George Washington and Jesus.

A different world now than when Ronald Reagan was POTUS. IIRC, President Reagan wanted NATO members (or in this case, non-NATO member) to pull their own weight.

There is no way on earth that Reagan or Trump would allow russia or the Soviet Union to attack a free Ukraine.

Unfortunately a lot of conservatives got themselves into this mess by listening to people like Tucker Carlson.

The Southern border should be secured and hopefully Trump will be elected into port millions I can only pray.

But this nonsense of believing that another debacle in the face of our enemies will be anything but a disaster for America is just over the top.

Anyone who thinks Donald Trump or Ronald Reagan would have denied aid to Ukraine is absolutely crazy.

“..to attack a free Ukraine. “

“Free” Ukraine ?

What the hell are you taling about ?

Ukraine has been attacking its former citizens in the breakaway Republics since 2014.

You know how Biden threatens dissident Americans with attacks by F-16s ?

Well, Kiev has been doing that to their own dissident populations since Maidan.

How about this? First all NATO members must pay up their full 2% of GDP share for the past five years including this year. Then, the US will match dollar for dollar all the aid the European NATO members send to Ukraine.

It’s a European security problem, and Europeans should pay the full expense of meeting it. They are just spoiled by past American largess.

They don’t know Reagan. I still haven’t mastered posting html images, but I did write a bio of Reagan using never before seen sources in 2016: “Reagan: The American President.”

I strongly believe Reagan would look at Ukraine with his “Reagan Doctrine” of when to involve the US: 1) Only when you have a solid majority of the people behind the effort; 2) Clear strategic purpose; 3) Exit strategy; 4) Apply full, unrelenting power.

None of that fits Ukraine.
