Let's recap where the case stands as we enter the final days of the (Climate) Trial of the Century.
Michael Mann sued Rand Simberg and Mark Steyn in 2012 for defamation after the "statements at issue" were published. The case then languished in the DC court system for 12 years. It has cost the Defendants millions in legal fees — not to mention the immeasurable physical toll to Mark and Rand. Now, in court, the onus is on the Plaintiff to prove the Defendants acted with malice and that there was harm incurred due to the blog posts.
So, has the Plaintiff proven his case? Here are the facts after three weeks in court:
After the "statements at issue," Mann became a faculty member at the University of Pennsylvania (a slightly more esteemed institution than Penn State).
After the "statements at issue," Mann has continued to pal around with the liberal left elite.
After the "statements at issue," Mann has only been able to point to one instance of public "revulsion" as he described. The incident in question occurred in a grocery store during the fallout from the Penn State scandal.
After the "statements at issue," did Mann's grant monies decline? Nope. As proven in court this past week, the evidence provided by the Plaintiff was falsified.

Steyn is doing something heroic, I hope he recovers all his legal costs.
The ‘hockey stick’ doesn’t seem to be used by the socialists anymore. I hope it is a sign of more becoming aware of the climate scam.
Thanks for posting. Starting the climate change on trial podcast.
It seems like the coward piven strategy now applies to my overwhelming numbers of attacks on our constitution podcasts… along with my usual podcasts. At least I am not bored.
Didn't know that fact. Another pillar of the Ivy League swirling down the vortex of the toilet bowl. When the academic senate of these "august" institutions substitue pursuit of science with pursuit of "the Science" they are off coure in a hurricane and foundering on the rocks.
He should counter sue, not only for legal expenses, but pain and suffering, and punitive damages as well.
I’m dubious that Steyn will win, as he’s ‘saint michael’ to the left.
But stranger things have happened.
That stated, buying a lotto ticket today...
I would love to be in the D.C. courtroom to hear Mark’s closing arguments. The article suggests it may be as early as today. I’m sure Mark is ready like the Spanish mantador is going into the third and final stage of a bullfight known as the tercio de muerte where the bullfirghter courageously and skillfully delivers the estocada to dispatch the bull.
I would love to be in the D.C. courtroom to hear Mark’s closing arguments.

Sure but it’s clear that this whole thing has taken a toll on Mark’s health. That is the most important thing to pray for and see a great recovery.
Of course there was harm to Mann...his feelings were hurt.
By the way, if you do sign on to the link I gave you, it appears they haven’t turned on the audio yet. They have been doing that a bit erratically during the trial. They will get around to it eventually....
ping for reference.
And God, please bless Mark.

Mann sued Tim Ball in Canada, the court DEMANDED that Mann reveal his climate materials — Mann chose NOT to comply with the court order.
The court ruled in favor of Tim Ball and ordered Mann to pay all court costs.
He has steadfastly refused and Tim Ball died a pauper.
A counter suit will likely just be a waste of money.
