BREAKING: Texas Sen. Ted Cruz calls for Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell to step down.

Cruz said when asked if it’s necessary for McConnell to step down as Senate leader, “I think it is.”

Other Republican senators have had enough of McConnell as well.

Sen. Ron Johnson likewise said McConnell’s strategy was “fatally flawed” when he “entered into this secret negotiation with Democrat Senator Chuck Schumer.”

“It normalizes thousands of people a day,” Johnson said of the bill. “It probably undermines the future president’s ability to secure the border by having things like a discretionary threshold.”

Sen. Rick Scott criticized McConnell for excluding most of the GOP conference from helping negotiate the terms of the bill.

“McConnell decided we’re not going to have something that forced a lawless administration to secure the border, and so this is where we are.”

You guys are a day late and a dollar short, seems I recall someone wanting to vote him out as Senate leader after the last election, but everyone kowtowed to him.

Corrupt, inept fossil Biden is leading the country.
Corrupt, inept fossil McConnell is leading the GOP in the Senate.

McConnell got Trump’s Supreme Court picks confirmed. I’ll give him that. But otherwise I don’t see a lot of difference between Biden and McConnell.
🙁

Did McConnell get Trump's SCOTUS picks confirmed, or did McConell get Trump to nominated his picks?

From the 49 GOP Senators...I’d say around 15 are now absolutely on the drive to replace Mitch. Bulk of them (say 25) aren’t saying much. The pro-Mitch group (vocal in support) is presently fewer than ten.

The fact that McDaniel (RNC boss) has now offered to step down...probably is the opening where Mitch won’t have any voice in replacing her, and his continual health issues will be discussed openly.

Only speculating here, but I suspect Trump will press for Rubio to be replacing Mitch on leadership.

That is an awesome question! And the same goes for Trump’s often unwise cabinet picks. I suppose we’ll never know exactly what happened there.

Everyone in DC should take a look at themselves and ask... What the hell are we doing to America?

Sadly, they’re so far gone they don’t even see it, or they’re part of the scheme.

Mitch is quite old and worn.

The difficulties of leadership appear to be more than he can bear.

He should step down as minority leader and just vote as an American citizen-loving Republican senator should. It is vital that the ‘rat governor not replace Mitch with a ‘rat.

Thanks again for blocking Merrick Garland. That should be good for 72 virgins in the hereafter.

True that. But instead they’re only concerned about pleasing their donors, winning elections, and building a nice bank account.

Term limits would have minimized all those things. The Founders really screwed up there.

Doesn't sound like much of a "call to step down." Someone asked him the question and he says, "I think so." That's pretty flaccid if that's all there is.
