Nothing more than credentialed shamans. But hey, if they maker some neurotics feel better what’s the harm?

Gorman has a general practice in downtown Towson but has gradually taken on climate therapy as a major focus, as he’s received an increasing number of calls for help with the climate crisis. These calls have coincided with his own growing worries about the world his daughters, who are 5 and 1, will inherit.“I’d been feeling my own anxiety and grief about what the world around us is going to look like and what the future is like for me and my kids,” Gorman said.
So he's a neurotic mess too. Physician, heal thyself!

She was the only woman in the Democratic primary, and emphasized health care reform, including mental health, same-sex marriage, and the environment, at a time when those issues weren’t automatically staples in the Democratic political lexicon. Newsflash for the doctor: those issues are not staples of any political party!

“… two “1,000-year” floods in Ellicott City two years apart…”
That’s what happens when you build your Main Street over a river which runs through low hills, and the rest of the town in the gully the river made, paving over everything.

***two “1,000-year” floods in Ellicott City two years apart***
And they are having a panic attack?
So? Tulsa OK had two 500 year floods eight years apart. We got caught in the first on Mingo Creek, Memorial Day 1976. My brother caught in the second flood on Mingo Creek Memorial Day 1984!
But then that was during THE COMING ICE AGE scares.

Oh, dear Lord. If you can’t get out of bed because of anxiety over a little “climate change”, how good are you to society, anyway?
Some people do suffer paralyzing mental problems, but these people are an insult to those with truly serious mental illness.

Reminds me of an old song from fifty five or so years ago.
“Where can you go,
When there’s no San Francisco,
Better get ready to tie up the boat,
In Idaho!”

The floods in in Ellicott City were due to huge expansion uphill from the city which is in a valley. They didn’t bother do install any serious flood controls.

“We need that climate anxiety,” said Dr. Lise Van Susteren, a pioneering psychiatrist in the field of climate therapy whose practice is in Washington, D.C., though she lives in Bethesda. “We need to turn what we know into what we do.”
We need to turn what we can scam into money.

So pathetic. We are breeding intelligence out of our population. Darwin in reverse.
Our culture is in the crapper with the water swirling.

Psychiatry has been considered a soft science because the boundaries move based on arbitrary social effects.
For example, trannys were considered to be mentally ill...until they weren't. Political conservativism was considered normal until they have tried to make it a disorder.

I’m a therapist. I ask my anxious clients to write down everything they’re anxious about. Then I ask them to identify the ones they have some control over. After that, I ask them to take action on those and forget about the rest.

These ‘’therapists’’ no doubt live in very nice apartments or homes, drive late model BMWs or Volvos, have no kids, are mostly likely lesbians and think they really make a difference in peoples lives at $3 or 400 an hour.
