At least 20 people have died after Ukraine launched a devastating strike on a building housing a bakery, Russian officials claim.
The blast rocked the Russian occupied city of Lysychansk in the eastern Ukrainian region of Luhansk today.
Russia’s emergency ministry said its workers have recovered 20 bodies from the rubble following the attack.
Videos shared by Moscow showed rescuers carrying people out on stretchers from the wreckage of the building.
Maria Zakharova, Russia’s foreign ministry spokesperson, said ‘dozens of civilians’ were in the building when it was hit and also claimed that western weapons were used.
The Russian-controlled Luhansk information centre said Ukraine shelled the bakery using the US-supplied high mobility artillery rocket system (HIMARS).

...so Ukraine is now reduced to killing other Ukrainians, as, I guess, they’re not having much luck killing Ruzzians.

Budanov has zero battlefield, zero battlefield command experience. He’s an intelligence operative. That’s the new priority.

Ukraine has been doing this crap since the war started.
“Russia claims” - I’ll leave that right there for now - as the propaganda has been so thick, that discerning truth from fiction, particularly coming out of Russia... well.
But lets talk bombing of civilian targets - Russia holds to a warfare model from WW2 - they bomb, shell, and destroy town by town - There are dozens of villages and towns, and more than a few larger cities that have been reduced completely to rubble by Russian shelling and bombing - much of which was done while civilians were still in their homes - and it was Russia that set up evacuation corridors - then bombed those was Ukrainian civilians were attempting to leave. Verified.
The West has functionally tied Ukraine’s warming hands to defense and limited, Western-style specific targeting. Warships, verified urban targets (mostly by Western intelligence), via the weapons made available. No long-range rockets or cruise missiles. So any strikes Ukraine has made, have been via drones and one of the very limited number of SCALP or other missiles - specifically to restrict Ukraine’s targeting.
So - unless there was a military target (double-confirmed by Western intelligence), that “bakery” was not specifically targeted. So the most probable scenario is that Russian air defenses crippled the weapon used - bringing it down on this building (again - assuming it wasn’t actually of military significance).
And yes, similar has happened in Ukraine - air defenses only knock down a missile - and it still hits cars, buildings, etc - not what was supposedly targeted. It is the risk of shooting them down.
So - regardless of the facts of the case, I simply cannot cry much for this particular story -

I did a search and there are pages of links regarding this bombing. There are differing accounts as to the number of fatalities tho.

Tell me about it. He’s apparently DISPUTING the article. Fine, then he needs to bring some PROOF to this thread, and using the old trope that “Russians Lie” is insufficient (and not even true, at least regarding this war). Even the Ukraine Apologists know FULL WELL that Ukraine is as good in lying as they are stealing US taxpayer money.
