In Lynchburg, a Republican council member wages social media war against a fellow Republican (VA)

Instead, this is 2024, so the only shots being fired are right now on Facebook as Lynchburg prepares for city council elections โ€” and a potentially party-defining choice for the Republican nominee for the Ward IV council seat.

Over the past few weeks, city councilman Marty Misjuns has posted the following about fellow council member (and vice mayor) Chris Faraldi:

We need principled leaders that are going to cast the right vote, every time, consistently. 2024 is going to be a great year to remove incompetent fraudsters at the ballot box.

Why would someone respect a liar, and opportunist that pretends to be a conservative but actively fights everything that matters to conservative voters?

This is whatโ€™s wrong with the GOP establishment. If they canโ€™t get their way, they will do whatever it takes to shut you up or get you out of the way. This is exactly what Vice Mayor Chris Faraldi is a part of, because heโ€™s too scared to oppose taxpayer funding of illegal and discriminatory DEI concepts in the workforce. We need a City Council representative for Ward IV that is principled, willing to fight for the people, and not in bed with the establishment swamp.

"If this were 1804, we might be preparing for a duel in Lynchburg on the order of Aaron Burr and Alexander Hamilton."

AH, the good old days... I say we bring'em back...

Not sure of Lynchburg’s political makeup, but it seems it is a Trump supporting against a swamp dweller. Could someone in Lynchburg give us details?

Trump defeated Biden 5,151 to 4,407 in Ward 4 of Lynchburg in 2020.

The good guy (Misjuns) is a city councilman at-large and is not directly running against the RINO (Faraldi). As of last week Faraldi is the only one running for the GOP nomination in Ward 4 but hopefully someone will step up to oust him.

Strangely, a new Virginia law passed by DEMOCRATS gives more power to parties to control their primaries and try to stop the other side from interfering.

The Democrat who created and pushed through that law is (along with Faraldi and his minions) now terrified that Republicans might use the new law to — gasp! — actually select a conservative in their own primary. The Rat law was apparently only supposed to protect liberals and surely not conservatives, but it may be about to backfire.

This election in Lynchburg is slated to be the first one in the entire state to be held under the new Democrat law.

There are like 3 colleges located there. The residents are conservative, but the college students trend liberal. 2020 saw the election go to Biden, which was the first time since Harry Truman that it went Democrat.

The ward (Ward 3) which contains a good part of the Liberty University area in the southern part of the city is very much Republican.

Ward 2 is the bad one, the “downtown” eastern part of the city along the river. Its hard-left tilt may have at least as much to do with its ghetto demographic than its college-punkie demographic.

Okay, I was just providing what I learned from a quick look at Lynchburg. I have been there before, for like football games, long ago now. Thanks for your input. ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ‘

โ€œโ€ฆ now terrified that Republicans might use the new law to โ€” gasp! โ€” actually select a conservative in their own primary.โ€

Never underestimate the ability of the VAGOP to screw things up.

Oh, I have no doubt of that. Either nobody else will enter the race, or it will be someone with no money who poses no threat at all to the well-funded RINO.

If a solid, viable conservative actually does enter the race....

Then there’s always the old GOPe trick of fabricating some fake “conservative” primary candidates who have no chance to actually win, but who DO have an excellent chance of splitting the conservative vote — detracting from the one viable candidate — and letting the RINO skate on to the general election with under 50% of the primary vote, presuming no runoff.

The Republican Establishment doesn't care about conservatives, they only care about keeping their donors happy.

And who are their big donors? Corporate globalists who knew they couldn't get a Democrat elected in a district, so chose to instead back a RINO who could be depended to vote with the Democrats on things that really matter to the donors.
