The teenage son of an Israeli diplomat is accused of intentionally driving his motorcycle into a Florida cop because he “hates waiting behind traffic,” but could have his charges dropped because of his father’s immunity, according to his attorney.
Avraham Gil, 19, appeared to be hysterically crying in his mugshot after he was arrested for striking a Sunny Isles Beach Police lieutenant just after 3:30 p.m. on Jan. 27.
The lieutenant was conducting a traffic stop on Collins Avenue, one of the main roadways on the Miami barrier island, when he saw Gil weaving through traffic and yelled at the teen to stop, according to WPLG.
As the cop motioned for Gil to stop, the teen reportedly continued to ride and “intentionally ran him over.”
The officer sustained an “incapacitating” injury to his left leg but grabbed Gil off his bike and brought him to the ground, according to the outlet.
Gil, who lives in Aventura, was charged with aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer and resisting an officer with violence, both felonies, according to court records viewed by The Post.
Gil’s father, Eli Gil, is the consul for administration at the Israeli Consulate in Miami.
Gil told officers he was weaving through the vehicles because he “hates waiting behind traffic,” according to the Miami New Times, citing a police report.

Spoiled brat......put him in jail where he belongs.
Back in the day, the German diplomats were the worst. Hands down.
Persona non grata. Deport him immediately. If the father complains, then deport the entire family. /spit
It’s a diplomat thing. I don’t like the diplomat immunity thing, but it’s real and it’s international. What if a kid of an American diplomat got scared and did stupid stuff? Just deport him, it’s the simplest answer.
>>Spoiled brat......put him in jail where he belongs.
Diplomatic immunity prevents jail, but he (and his father) can still be expelled and declared “persona non grata”.
Give the kid a choice: Stay here and face the charges or go home...and join the IDF.

How do you know he hasn't already completed his IDF service?
Unless you're a gentile or have a religious exemption (to study Torah), IDF service is mandatory, isn't it?
Low-level consular officials do not normally get diplomatic immunity.
Miami-Dade State Attorney:
“...After receiving confirmation from the State Department, Office of Foreign Missions, that neither the defendant nor his father have diplomatic immunity, we are proceeding as usual with our investigation.”
Okay, if true-why isn’t he deployed? The current situation would seem to be an “all hands on deck” one.

This is the only correct and only proper response. Thus, we can be assured it won’t take place.
But if hasn't, and if he lacks diplomatic immunity, he can always do his IDF service after a stint in a U.S. prison. They're two separate issues.
That’s good news. Now prosecute his spoiled ass and see how he likes the Florida State Prison system.

There’s also the distinct possiblity the reason he’s here to avoid the mandatory IDF service.
IOW the cop jumped into the path of the bike at the last minute to grab him off of it.
So the headline is a lie to get clicks
Quite possible.
Maybe dear old dad has some “pull” in that department.

I remember a few years ago when the wife of a U. S. diplomat in Britain struck and killed a motorcyclist. IIRC she was just sent back home. Diplomatic immunity.
And the perp’s father is cool with that...
Then again, who wants their kid serving a Deep State that allowed the Oct 7 attacks to take place...
Maybe. But first ‘news’ stories are increasingly inaccurate. Lazy and low IQ reporters and editors.
