The altar to Baphomet was installed by the Satanic Temple, with approval from the Iowa Legislature. It featured a goat’s head on a red-caped mannequin holding a crimson pentagram wreath.

Establishment of the Church of Satan as the state religion is getting closer.
They would have given him an award if it had been a statue of Jesus.
Hate crime legislation itself is an act of hate. It is used to compound the penalty for politically unapproved acts.
The most stupid of them all is to call a murder a hate crime in certain situations.
Can anyone define for me an act of murder that is not, by definition, an act of hate?
I once heard on a top-of-the-hour newscast a murder referred to as a hate murder. That was supposed to distinguish it from just an ordinary murder.
No humans were hurt, so where’s the crime?
It’s a Thoughtcrime. The thought of not liking satanism, is the crime. However, the thought of hating Christianity is not considered a crime, in fact it is treated with love and respect.
One might think there is a movement afoot to eliminate Christianity.
The lesson is, of course: Don’t get caught.
Righteousness does not save you and crime will flourish without it.
We had the After school Satan club in schools in Mount Vernon, WA. They didn’t last long, though. A Muslim young man from Anacortes, committed a mass shooting at the Macy’s in the mall there and the mall had to be evacuated. A church stepped up and allowed the evacuees to be brought to the church to be questioned by the police and picked up by family members. Other churches joined in the effort to heal the community, held memorials and community picnics. The terror attack turned into a revival and the After school Satan club just went away.
Maybe not an award, but would have been completely ignored.
I can remember when Mars Hill Church in Portland, OR was vandalized, with 100-year-old irreplaceable stained glass window being broken out with bricks, by militant homosexual activists, who admitted to the crime and bragged about it online. Nothing was done about it.
We know who’s in power
Maybe it’s time for The Great Ejection 2. This history is lost in seminaries. It’s past time, actually.
Oddly, I somehow thought that the Governor, AG and legislature in Iowa were in conservative Republican hands. I guess I was wrong.
Ummm, best of luck getting a conviction on that in Iowa.
I don’t recall BLM/antifa terrorists being charged with “hate crimes” when they pulled down statues of famous American patriots in public and on camera. I must not have been paying attention.
Ask for a jury trial. There should be at least one American who can overcome the female prosecutor and judge.
LOL!! Funny that you mention Romney Marsh. I would have had to look it up if I hadn’t read a 3-book Romney Marsh mystery series based in the late 18th century that features a vicar of a church near Romney Marsh. It’s by A.J. MacKenzie. The third series ended with the author saying there would be another book coming out, but that was in 2018, and nothing so far.
Actually St Paul might have given us the lesson a long time ago
“ For God did not give us a spirit of cowardice but rather of power and love and self-control.
So do not be ashamed of your testimony to our Lord,* nor of me, a prisoner for his sake; but bear your share of hardship for the gospel with the strength that comes from God.”
Timothy 2
In fallen America, it is now a crime to hate Satan.
I hope the rapture happens soon.
If he was transgender he wouldn’t have been charged
