"But the opinion from Clark Erickson, a retired judge and a Republican"
Ah yes, the magic totem dragged out. Like "you can't criticize John Kerry because he served in Vietnam". Hopefully people are catching on to that.

There is no Republican Party in IL.
There is only The Combine.

That statement is true for three counties in HELLINOIS.
The rest, not so much.
Unfortunately those three counties have a griplock on the rest of the state.

But the Dems, in fascist lockstep, claim that Trump is a threat to democracy.

This should be a simple case for the Supreme Court. Our Constitution outlines the requirements for federal office and states should not be allowed to change those requirements.
Now if states want to make up their own rules for state office then by all means go to it.
But as we see happening one political party is attempting to block an opposition candidate for political reasons. This would destroy our republic.

Yes. I’d be shocked if they voted to keep Trump on the ballot.
I’m totally expecting them to dump him.

Stupid question, I know, but why would they claim the 14th to keep Trump off of a primary ballot which does not elect him to any office?

When in the F are the GD red states going to wake the F up and take Biden off there ballots? Easiest, most observable and provable violation of the constitution, failure to enforce our border.

That retired judge is applying the CIVIL standard of preponderance of the evidence, and NOT the criminal standard of beyond a reasonable doubt. Thus, necessarily, he is saying that Trump’s alleged actions do not rise to a crime; and therefore the 14th Amendment is not even applicable. Thanks, judge! You just sank your own claim! You have in fact argued that Trump CAN be on the primary ballot.
