My mom was one where a three-week series of electroshock treatments in her 40s cured her depression for life. OTOH, a neighbor’s relative needs to get periodic on-going treatments with no end in sight.
I didn’t find out about what she went thru until her first stroke in 1980.
She and Dad kept us in the dark. After a couple more strokes, she passed in 1986.
Peace for her at last.
