For three years, Joe Biden and his repulsive Homeland Security chief, Alejandro Mayorkas, have encouraged the Third World to enter America illegally.
At least 8 million have answered their siren song.
Only now that the sheer numbers of illegal aliens causing mayhem and busting budgets in Democratic cities like New York have become an electoral liability has Biden had an epiphany.
So he is doing what he does best: telling lies to weasel out of blame.
Now he claims he needs Republicans in Congress to give him the “authority to shut down the border when it becomes overwhelmed … I would use it the day I sign the bill into law.”
But he already has the authority. He could shut down the border today. He has spent three years lying that the border is “secure” and now he’s lying that he needs new laws to secure it.
He could stop suing Texas to prevent Gov. Greg Abbott from sealing his border with Mexico, for starters.
He signed 94 executive actions in his first 100 days to dismantle Donald Trump-era border protections.
The proof of the pudding is in the eating, and it’s worth saying over and over: Trump drove border crossings to record lows while Biden drove them to record highs.

Spoke too soon. I'll win my bet. The narrative has changed. There will be scant or little reporting on what Texas is doing at the border or what the left is doing about it. Talk of nationalizing the Texas Guard is disappearing since they know they can't do that.
The new narrative has changed to the "immigration reform" bill with no mentions of the Ukraine $70 billion that is included in it. In the Sunday morning talk shows Lankford was trotted out as their willing stooge to promote the bill and claim it is being mis-understood. A lie of course.
The narrative is changing to attempt to make Joe the hero that saves the day. Abbott can't be allowed to be seen as doing anything effective so they just won't cover it.
The current objective is to steal Texas' and the repooblican governor's thunder and relate them to insignificance. It is also to diminish to nothing the border crisis the left has created.
Won’t be a problem if all the states just turn over their FED illegal alien ‘parolees’ to the District of Columbia, aka, Washington, DC. It’s the closest place that doesn’t have state sovereignty issues to all states involved. And it was set up with a mayor instead of a governor so there would be no issue over states’ rights there. It isn’t a state.
Parolees of the Feds are not a state problem, and this is how the states can correct it. All based on US Constitution, Art. IV, Sect.4.
