Former Republican-appointed Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff had clear advice for the House GOP as they work to topple his successor: “Don’t impeach Alejandro Mayorkas.”
In a Wall Street Journal op-ed ahead of a Tuesday markup on articles of impeachment to remove Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, Chertoff was critical of Republicans case.
The articles released Sunday accuse Mayorkas of failing to carry out immigration laws as well as “breach of public trust,” an argument that comes after they have said he is “derelict” in his duty to secure the border.

Deep State Talk.
What else does Congress have to do?
Cut off funding for facilitating the invasion of America?

“ Cut off funding for facilitating the invasion of America?”
The House could do exactly that. One line would suffice.
“No funds in this Bill may be used in any way to facilitate humanitarian parole for any person who has not presented themselves at a lawfully designated entry point.”

Translation: This impeachment could establish a very dangerous precedent of removing public officials for complete, utter incompetence or worse. That pretty much is 75% of Washington, Oh the horror!

Exactly. Chertoff was appointed by George W. Bush.

I wonder how many illegals were invited to camp out on Bush’s property. You know, to invigorate his soul. I’m guessing that number is less than one. As in, zero.

With 435 members, the House should be able to do way more than one thing at a time.

This impeachment could establish a very dangerous precedent of removing public officials for complete, utter incompetence or worse. Excellent. People tend to think of impeachment as applying only to the President. Near as I can tell, it also applies to ANY civilian government office requiring "advice and consent" by the Senate.

Chertoff was the lead Republican counsel during the Whitewater congressional hearings back in the 1990s.
It's plain to see he was part of the Clinton protection racket.
The Deep State has so many assets to protect itself from facing justice.

While the GOP complains Mayorkas hasn’t detained a sufficient number of migrants as required under law, the U.S. has never had the bed capacity or funding to detain every migrant. Gotta love that spin by The Hill. The GOP is impeaching Mayorkas because he is unable to detain every migrant.
