If they want to stop him, they will probably use his weak point: fundraising. He is trying to get 26 million rubles (about $290,000) and now has about 1.7 million. The maximum amount to pay is 2.4 million rubles. They will pay a larger amount from some account and say that it is from abroad or similar and then explain that Nadezhdin is a “foreign agent”.

Nadezhdin’s staff has probably thought about this and done something to check the payment and send them back or send unclear payments to the Russian treasury or similar.

As written above, he has support in the Kremlin and if he is a controlled opposition, the whole thing can take on a life of its own and then increase the internal conflicts. Putin today wants a smaller demobilization (27,000?) to get support in the election, while Shoigu and other generals fear that it will lead to a sense of injustice among those who are not allowed to go (no money for bribes) and less effect in the trenches.

Note that Nadezhdin says that on day 1 after winning the election he will stop the war and send all soldiers home from Ukraine. This is what the Kremlin has difficulty with. The Putin gang is planning a partial mobilization before the election to gain support, and after the election (in April) a total mobilization to make major attacks in Ukraine and in other countries (e.g. Moldova?) The next few months will be interesting.

Pamfilova called Kiriyenko and laughed: “Are we giving people hope? ”

The Central Election Commission should soon process the signatures collected for candidates for the presidency of Russia. Perhaps the main intrigue is whether Boris Nadezhdin will be registered. Will he be given the right to take part in the elections? Unexpectedly, there is still no final decision. At the same time, it is obvious that Nadezhdin's position and growing recognition frighten the current government. On federal TV, if they remember Nadezhdin, it is in an extremely negative way. Pro-government networks are even trying to connect Nadezhdin with Ukraine, despite his rich past in Russian politics.

According to our information, the head of the Central Election Commission, Ella Pamfilova, called the person in charge of the elections, Sergei Kiriyenko, about Nadezhdin. The conversation took place in a calm, even slightly cheerful tone. “Well, are we going to give people hope?” Pamfilova asked, laughing. We do not know Kiriyenko’s answer. Pamfilova said that everything is fine with the candidate's signatures, but “you can always find mistakes.” In general, we are watching. Our sources are convinced that Nadezhdin will not even be allowed to participate in the elections . The Kremlin does not like his anti-war position.

Just in - Will Nadezhdin and the Communist Party be stopped?

The CEC [Central Election Commission] will invite Boris Nadezhdin and Sergey Malinkovich [see below] on Monday, February 5 at 10.00 to notify about deficiencies in signatures, said CEC Deputy Chairman Nikolai Bulaev.

Boris Nadezhdin’s press service stated that tomorrow’s CEC message on the verification of the candidate’s signatures will be technical and will be held in a closed format, the candidate himself will not come there either:

“As soon as we understand the date for the announcement of the final results of the signature verification, we will schedule a press conference.”

Earlier, the deputy chairman of the Central Election Commission, Nikolai Bulaev, stated that the signatures of deceased people were allegedly found on the signature sheets for the nomination of Boris Nadezhdin.

The Central Election Commission found 15.348% of defects in Boris Nadezhdin's signatures, said his representative Igor Artemyev.

https://t.me/cikrf/9800

Nadezhdin:
The CEC working group reported 15% of defects in the signatures that I submitted on January 31. We plan to collect signatures. We only need to remove approximately 4,500 signatures out of 9,209 that were declared invalid.

If the Central Election Commission refuses to register me, I will appeal the decision to the Supreme Court.

one of the communists are out: The defect in Sergei Malinkovich’s signatures exceeds the permissible barrier. The candidate does not intend to appeal the natural refusal to register.

Russian blogger:

Nadezhdin will not be allowed to participate in the elections, but there is a dangerous moment for the Kremlin.

The Central Election Commission, as we predicted, does not intend to allow Boris Nadezhdin to participate in the elections. Right now there is a struggle over signatures for a presidential candidate. Nadezhdin's headquarters has already announced that the Central Election Commission rejected more than 15% of the signatures. At the same time, it is already known that the reason for the blocking is formal - the CEC declared more than 2,500 signatures invalid due to the fact that the dates of entry were not entered by voters, but directly by the organizers of the collection. It is obvious that Ella Pamfilova will not allow the only anti-war candidate to participate in the elections. But this whole story with Nadezhdin is already an important signal for the [Presidential Administration].

“Nadezhdin showed that there is a demand in the country for an anti-war candidate. And this is important to understand. Yes, it is obvious that the administrative resource will win and the candidate will not be registered. But what next? It is unlikely that Borya (Nadezhdin - Ed.) will lead people into the streets. But all this story showed that not everyone in the country is for Putin and his course,” says a political strategist who previously collaborated with the Kremlin.

Another important point is that even the attempt to nominate Nadezhdin became possible due to inconsistency of actions within the Administration. In the long term, this could lead to destabilization of the situation within the country. Here we would advise top officials not to play politics at such an important moment for the country. The country is de facto at war! And it is important for us to win this war!

It's getting complicated:

State organizations continue to collect signatures in support of Vladimir Putin and publish propaganda, with a long delay. Yesterday, a publication about collecting signatures in support of Putin's nomination appeared on the verified VKontakte page of the Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk Chamber of Control and Accounts.

First of all, it's illegal. And secondly, Putin's headquarters submitted signatures to the Central Election Commission on January 22, and on January 29 he was registered as a candidate. I wonder what this “lateness” is connected with.

The Kremlin may not allow Boris Nadezhdin, the only anti-war Russian presidential candidate, to run in the March 2024 presidential election due to Nadezhdin's larger-than-anticipated popularity. A Russian Central Election Commission (CEC) working group claimed on February 5 that 15 percent of the signatures that Nadezhdin collected to register as an election candidate were fraudulent and that the CEC recommends not registering him as a candidate.[17] Nadezhdin stated in response to the CEC’s announcement that his campaign plans to collect the 4,500 valid signatures he needs to run and that he will appeal to the Russian Supreme Court if the CEC refuses to register him as a presidential candidate.[18] Nadezhdin previously claimed to have submitted 200,000 signatures to the Russian CEC on January 31.[19] Russian presidential candidates sponsored by political parties need to submit 100,000 signatures with additional regional requirements in order to run in the presidential election, and no more than five percent of the total submitted signatures can be fraudulent.[20] The CEC stated that it will announce its final decision on February 7, but the CEC is unlikely to allow Nadezhdin to run.[21]

Nadezhdin previously stated that he believes the CEC will have to allow him to run in the March 2024 presidential election due to his widespread popularity and that he wanted as many uncontestable signatures as possible so the CEC could not disqualify him. ISW assessed on January 23 that the Kremlin may intend to use the March 2024 election as an unofficial referendum on Russia's war in Ukraine by allowing Nadezhdin to run in an election that portrays Russian President Vladimir Putin (and by extension his war in Ukraine) as overwhelmingly popular, but the CEC’s February 5 announcement suggests that the Kremlin may have backtracked from this plan out of concern that Nadezhdin might gain too many votes and reduce Putin's margin of victory below levels the Kremlin is willing to accept.[22] The CEC’s valid signature requirement is the logical mechanism for ending Nadezhdin's presidential campaign whether or not the Kremlin was initially willing to tolerate the campaign.

Russian officials and sources have increasingly censored and sought to discredit Nadezhdin after Nadezhdin's campaign gained significant notoriety while collecting signatures.[23] Russian CEC Deputy Chairperson Nikolai Bulaev claimed on February 2 that Nadezhdin's campaign collected dozens of signatures of deceased Russians and questioned the integrity of the Nadezhdin campaign.[24] Russian opposition outlet Novaya Gazeta recently reported that Nadezhdin's campaign struggled to find a printing house to print copies of Nadezhdin's campaign newsletter, citing a source within the campaign.[25] Nadezhdin previously claimed that Russian state television attempted to censor him and his campaign.[26] A Russian ultranationalist milblogger cryptically suggested on January 30 that the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) would “meet” with Nadezhdin prior to the election, implying that the FSB would interrogate or imprison him.[27]

The Kremlin will not like this text by Nadezhdin:

My peers, 20 and 30 year old men, took part in the Afghan war in 1979-1989. More than 546 thousand Soviet citizens went through this military conflict. The losses of our country amounted, according to various sources, from 14 to 15 thousand people. But the consequences of the war lasted for years and affected civil society within the USSR.

In 1992, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Justice published the collection “Crime and Offenses.” In the last pre-war year, 1978, 1.3 million crimes were registered, and in the first post-war year - 1990 - 2.78 million. According to Kommersant , in 1989 at least 3.7 thousand “Afghans” were convicted for murders and robberies. According to the USSR Ministry of Defense, 6,669 people became disabled.

My comrade Boris Nemtsov openly opposed the First and Second Chechen Wars. Many people were sent to the First Chechen War from Nizhny Novgorod, where Boris Efimovich was the governor. The dead in the two wars number in the thousands, the wounded in the tens of thousands. There were 13 thousand registered disabled participants in combat operations in Chechnya and Dagestan in 2001 .

Now thousands of sons of veterans of Afghanistan and Chechnya have been mobilized in the Northern Military District. Our government has found itself not in developing a strategy to increase the birth rate, but in consistently inflicting trauma on its people.

Boris Nemtsov collected a million signatures to show the President: citizens are against the First Chechen War. In 2024, you and I collected more than 200 thousand signatures for Russia to become peaceful again.

https://t.me/BorisNadezhdin/858

Russian losses in Ukraine are almost 400 000.

Nadezhdin:
The Central Election Commission refused to register my candidacy for the post of President of the Russian Federation.

I do not agree with the decision of the Central Election Commission. I collected more than 200 thousand signatures throughout Russia. We conducted the collection openly and honestly - the whole world watched the queues at our headquarters and collection points.

Running for President in 2024 is the most important political decision of my life. I do not retreat from my intentions. I will appeal the decision of the Central Election Commission to the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation.

The CEC analyzed 60,000 signatures out of the 315,000 submitted by Putin, and found that only 91 (0.15%) were invalid, which is significantly below the 5% threshold.

Boris Nadezhdin stated that the notarized identification of the collectors was in boxes on the way to the Central Election Commission, but then disappeared. “I hope the Central Election Commission has nothing to do with this?” the head of the Central Election Commission clarified. “I don't know,” Nadezhdin answered.

Let us remind you that about 3,000 signatures were declared invalid due to problems with collectors.

Russian blogger:

Pamfilova [head of Election Commission] conveyed a message from Putin to Nadezhdin.

The miracle did not happen - the Central Election Commission refused to register Boris Nadezhdin as a presidential candidate. We have long predicted that this is exactly what will happen, because Nadezhdin quickly gained popularity and his campaign went on a grand scale. However, it is also clear that the presence of a candidate with an anti-war agenda confused the [Presidential Administration]’s plans.

As a result, Nadezhdin remains left behind. But there is a separate point that is worth paying attention to. Ella Pamfilova suggested that Nadezhdin “not jump from party to party,” but create his own.

Our interlocutors from the Kremlin’s political bloc made it clear that these are not just words. This is essentially the position of Sergei Kiriyenko, which he agreed with the president. Nadezhdin will be allowed to create a party and even, possibly, get seats in the State Duma.

“There were no risks for Vladimir Vladimirovich, but it is better to keep the anti-war agenda out of harm’s way. [Boris] must understand that it is better for him to shut up now and he will get a chance for a seat in the State Duma,” said our interlocutor. At the same time, he emphasized that the Kremlin has not recently conducted any communication with Nadezhdin’s team.

Now it is important to see whether Nadezhdin will agree to a conditional deal or whether he will demand to be recognized as a presidential candidate until the last minute.

Russian blogger:

Nadezhdin could have won at least 15% of the votes.

And here is an important clarification about why the Central Election Commission made the final (and, obviously, agreed upon with the Kremlin) decision to refuse to register Boris Nadezhdin as a presidential candidate. A recent opinion poll, the results of which were at our disposal, showed that if the elections were held this weekend, Nadezhdin could have taken second place and received 10-10.5% of the vote.

“If the dynamics of his campaign were maintained, Borya (Boris Nadezhdin - Ed.) could gain 15% of the vote or even more. A huge number. Impermissible,” said a political strategist who is part of Sergei Kiriyenko’s circle and has known Nadezhdin for a long time.

Opinion polls showed that most of all citizens supported the desire of the failed candidate to stop the [invasion of Ukraine]. Some interlocutors noted the freshness of his ideas, while others emphasized his previous experience in domestic politics. However, and this is important, approximately half of those who were ready to vote for Nadezhdin were not interested in him before the elections, and approximately 20% of potential voters learned about his campaign from relatives and friends. That is, the opinion poll showed that an important share of voters for Nadezhdin was essentially provided by the so-called word of mouth.

Nadezhdin is not giving up.

The circulation of our newspaper disappeared in Izhevsk.

In order to deliver the newspaper to several neighboring regions at once, we printed a circulation in Udmurtia and handed it over to the Baikal Service delivery service. The newspapers were supposed to go to Kazan and Nizhny Novgorod.

When the chief of our headquarters in Izhevsk called back to Baikal Service to make sure that the newspapers had been sent, he was informed that the entire circulation - 400 thousand copies - had allegedly been seized by the police.

When asked to provide some documents confirming the seizure of circulation from Baikal Service, they refused.

After attempts to find out the fate of the circulation, a representative of Baikal Service in an obscene form refused further communication to an employee of Boris Nadezhdin's headquarters.

We demand the return of the “lost” edition immediately!
