Here where I live talk radio is on FM. There are only about two AM stations across the whole band that will come up, and not very clear.
I bought a radio that is supposed to pull in faraway stations. No AM stations play music much anymore. I kind of prefer music on AM.
I dont know enough about the radio industry to have any guess why this is but there does seem to be a big difference depending on the market you live in.
I have a large number of AM options. Far too many devoted to some culty or sports nonsense but there is talk and music also including some stations broadcasting on both AM/FM.
Most of these are local but not all of them. Someone above mentioned something like “AM goes 100+ miles.” Definitely the “+”, Im nearly all the way to Canada and I used to regularly listen to a station from Missouri.
Most of the AM stations here are in Spanish.
So it sounds kind of racist to me.
Well; our TMVs sure have about killed the over the air transmissions.
At least when the TV signal was weak; the screen just picked up more and more noise (snow).
My new digital TVs either show a picture or not.
No chance of viewing a far awai station.
