FWIW, I still smell a plot by leftist corporate scum to marginalize conservative talk radio. The radio interference by electric vehicle engines provides a convenient excuse. Hopefully, I’m wrong.
“ conservative talk radio”
Is there ANYTHING left on AM radio at all? It’s all moved to podcasts delivered over cellular data.
Here where I live talk radio is on FM. There are only about two AM stations across the whole band that will come up, and not very clear.
I bought a radio that is supposed to pull in faraway stations. No AM stations play music much anymore. I kind of prefer music on AM.
AM radio is essential in evaluating emergency areas. The more information the better.
Even though I'm in my 60s now, the last time I tuned into an AM station was about 20 years ago, when I lived in the Boston area and tuned in to the mighty WRKO 680 to hear the likes of Howie Carr and Rush Limbaugh.
Back in the day we called AM baseball Radio, because we mostly listened to FM for rock music. Radio frequency interference (RFI) was a problem on older cars, especially hot rods with high performance ignition systems. An easy fix was attaching condensers and suppressors to the coil or distributor. Since the mid 70’s cars with electronic ignitions have RFI and EMI suppressors built in. And there are EMI suppressors available at most parts stores fairly cheap.
This is indeed a ploy to suppress conservative talk radio.
