You’re assuming that caring about race is not woke. The wokesters are the ones who make sure everyone knows that race should divide us. Today they might overuse the word “diversity”, but they’re 24/7 white man bad, just like they were the ones who used to be black man bad.

In TOS nobody ever brought up race unless it had to do with why Spock is always logical. Just like those of us on the right can work with other races and go to church with other races without thinking about it.

You’re first sentence and second sentence don’t match each other.

Also you’re forgetting that time has passed. The battle lines change constantly. In 1966 Civil Rights was a major battlefield. And race was VERY MUCH a woke issue.

Yes IN TOS nobody brought up race. Which was part of Gene’s point. That people had evolved past caring about that. To have people who had recently watched the news, where arguments about black voting rights, segregation, and all kinds of other racial issues (not to mention a war with non-whites) where CONSTANT; then watch a show with a racially diverse cast, and nobody is at all concerned WAS the message.
