People on this website don’t like when I claim that all Democracies, and all Republics are fake, and disguised Oligarchies.
It is always true.
It is also true for Monarchies, Empires, Dictatorships. They are also fake, and disguised Oligarchies.
The elites are happy to take the voter outcomes when it serves their interests. But when it doesn’t (like Trump) they all move together to serve their own interests.
I would venture that is a bit too cynical for most people. I don’t agree with it, but that is your opinion.
I do understand the sentiment. I just don’t think we were founded that way. But I keep open the possibility, I don’t like to believe, that we are simply an oligarchy now.
