Former President Donald Trump posted to his Truth Social account that he is encouraging all "willing states to deploy their [national guard] to Texas to prevent to entry" of illegal immigrants.
Trump made the call to do so after Texas Gov. Gregg Abbot declared an invasion and invoked Texas' right to "self-defense" in the First Article of the Constitution. At least 14 states have signaled supporting Texas in its efforts.
Trump was calling for action in 2015 when he came down the escalator, within minutes after ending his speech the state media called Trump a bigot, a Nazi, a racist etc., because he told the truth.
And by the way, your response had zip to do with my comment.
.
What role did Russia play in the U.S. Civil War?
My answer to them is:
“Is it an insurrection when the government is under enemy occupation?”
And for anyone who doesn’t think it’s under enemy occupation, we have had for the past 3 years a government that is helping foreign nationals invade this country, foreign nationals who for all we know could be foreign military. There is ZERO reason or excuse for the government to be doing this other than for nefarious reasons and either we take action in the name of self preservation or we risk losing everything.
And candidate Trump was running for office then . . . but earlier you said about another candidate: “That was done while he was running for President. I'm not overly impressed.”
You probably have other reasons you don't like DeSantis; fine.
You should cite one of them rather than saying you don't like a candidate doing or saying the right thing when they run for office. That doesn't make sense.
I get it, you work at the dial-an-argument call center.
You ought to find yourself a cause.
It’s always great to see when FReepers find the dark lining in the silver clouds.
I can still drive tacks at 100 yards,at 75 yoa.
I am too stiff to run though.....so I will not turn my back in retreat ! Just give me a pile of full 40 round mags.
I’ll fight for Texas.
I guess right about now you would rather talk about anything other than your ill-advised attack on the governor that has been sending National Guard troops to help the Texans.
You probably spoke before you had a chance to think it through. We have all done that at one time or another.
I understand, you're still butthurt DeSantos got KO'd by Trump. He got the hood slammed on his head. He's the loser. Get over it.
So you have ought against DeSantis because “He got the hood slammed on his head.” I figured it was something like that.
But you have stopped criticizing DeSantis for sending national guard troops to help Texas. That's good; you have raised the level of your argument.
Go sleep it off.
“Go sleep it off.”
I will if you promise not to criticize elected officials who are helping Texas secure their border - at least until I get back.
Well, the commie heading up Maryland would certainly not do this. After all, he’s a commie with full allegiance to El Retardo.
If so, they were might have been replacements or additions to what Florida sent May 2023. The point is that Florida and maybe some other states have already been doing this. Obviously, more needs to be done on all levels.
I am glad that a border state governor is finally standing up to this invasion, but NM, AZ and CA are not.
Yes, I guess Joe Manchin doesn’t understand that the National Emergency executive order of Trump has been renewed every year since Biden has been allowed to pretend to be President.
Mr. GG2 saw a report that one Texas sheriff has sworn in 500 people in his county and handed out badges.
Importing? They’re here. Antifa, etc.
Uh, sure. Except there's no link to anything so far that indicates that was done.
Maybe super-secret swearing in?
It was on the national news on the car radio yesterday. So stop jack azzin around. 😆
