My colleague Mike Miller previously reported about scuttlebutt afoot regarding replacing Joe Biden with Michelle Obama as the Democrats' 2024 presidential nominee. I wrote earlier about a report that the Obamas were worried about Biden's chances, that Obama had been yelling at him to step things up or get out, and reports they were working behind the scenes to encourage him to get out of the race.

But now there's more from Megyn Kelly, talking about a report from NY Post columnist Cindy Adams about the "plan" in the works. Now, again, take all reports with a grain of salt and question anything from "sources" but Adams says she's being told the timeline. Kelly said there's been a reach out to donors that both she and Adams have heard about.
Here's what Adams says:
Reportedly, and I’m being told, “Obama has polled donors.”
His plan? Around May, Biden announces he’s not running (even mentally). The so-called plot is that come the August convention, Michelle gets nominated.

The process has begun.
Kelly also mentioned Michelle Obama's comments about being terrified for 2024, because leaders were so important and the government does "everything" for us.
What’s going to happen in this next election? I am terrified about what could possibly happen. Because our leaders matter, who we select, who speaks for us, who holds that bully pulpit, it affects us in ways that sometimes I think people take for granted. You know, the fact that people think that government, ‘Ahhh, you know, does it really even do anything?’ And I’m like, ‘Oh my God. Does government do everything for us, and we cannot take this democracy for granted.’ And sometimes I worry that we do.”
Now, I don't doubt Barack Obama likes power, but I'm not sure Michelle wants the job. Plus, while they may think that she could just step in and be nominated at the convention, it might not be as simple as they think. Others with experience beyond just being in the White House might rise and want to be heard in such a scenario. So this seems a rather complicated thing to try to pull off at the last hour, although she is very popular within the party. And Biden hasn't seemed to want to step aside so far — the plan requires him to comply. Jill Biden likes the spotlight. So that's another thing — they would have to somehow convince him to get out. It seems someone wants us to think this is a possibility. Are they floating a test bubble to see how it works or does Barack Obama think they could pull this off?
But the fact that this is even being floated at all is just one more confirmation of how weak Joe Biden is. That could explain why the reports about what Barack Obama and his aides are thinking re: Joe Biden have been percolating a lot over the past month, perhaps laying the groundwork, and why Michelle is suddenly making comments at all.
Republicans should be prepared for anything, as we see Democrats will try anything to retain control.

Next up—South Carolina—polls show Biden at 69%.
Conclusion: The numbers say that Biden will be the Democratic nominee.
Anyone claiming otherwise needs to produce strong evidence for their claims. Imho they have failed to do so to date.

That looks attractive but the three problems with that scenario are:
1) How do you bypass Harris without alienating the Black vote.
2) What will they do with Hillary?
3) I don’t see how the Obama wing supports this.
Hmmm...being a bit cynical...but would you want Lady MacBeth just your heartbeat away from the power she’s lusted for all her life?
Regardless of whether the Dem nominee is ultimately Biden, Michelle, Gavin Newsome or Barbara Streisand, Republicans need to develop a campaign theme that it’s not so much the person, it’s the policy, and regardless of how mentally functional, friendly or articulate the Dem candidate is, the policies of the party will still be just as destructive as they are now with Biden ostensibly running the show. That’s also a reason to emphasize not voting for more moderate sounding Democrats for the Senate and House. All it takes is for them to have a majority in order to wreak havoc and continue their destruction of our country. It doesn’t matter if somebody’s local Democrat is a good person who sincerely wants to do good things (doubtful, at this stage, though). They can’t be given the majority, regardless of who sits in the Oval Office.

Both Newsom and Whitmer will bring in their own “crews” who want power and perks. This will clash with the present entrenched Zero crew. Hellary likely has dirt on all and will demand some sort of pay off.
I would hope that only LBJ made aides stand next to the open door of the bathroom while he was taking a dump. Him getting hummers from noted plagiarist Doris Kearns Goodwin is also stomach turning, but I can concede he may have company on that one.
If Frau Whitmer runs, the global supply of red lipstick will be hit hard.

On the other hand, as I've said multiple times now, the average RAT voter is quite pleased with his administration because they are getting everything they want so they're fine if he stays where he is. The only malcontents at the moment ar the Hamas hordes from hell because they want more Israeli blood than Biden has given them to this point. If he were to stop all aid to Israel, they'd be on board as well.
I think she (be) could win since Democrats are weirdos and tend to vote as they are told - and also there is the cheating.
But the optics would very weird even for the weirdo party.
1) She(?) will have skipped the whole primary and debate process - so she will need to be somehow be anointed nominee (by who and by what process?)
2) Her(?) qualifications are that she is black, a woman(?) and is married to somebody that was elected President because he was black.. pretty thin resume.
Meanwhile, they have a token in Harris who actually was elected(?) and the process for anointing her nominee is perfectly sound - all they have to do is have Biden step down for health reasons.
Whoever it is will just be another puppet anyway, so Harris’s abysmal IQ and “likability” should not be a problem - and the Democrat voters (even dead ones) will vote Democrat no matter who it is.
As for beating Trump, she will have a clean slate - the fake news will throw Biden under the bus, blame past failures on Biden, Trump,, Obama, Bush - and talk about the bright future with the first black woman POTUS.
It just seems so much simpler and cleaner. I think that’s what they’ll do.

Perhaps I should have wrote “mainstream”. Certainly more so than Harris, Hillary, or Michelle.
How to finesse Heels-up? Consider the Torricelli gambit. Slow Joe stays in past the convention, having obtained the nomination. Suddenly his health takes a turn for the worse but not enough to trip the 25th. He declares he wants to retire at the end of his current term. Jill gets a “special” talking-to and the whole Biden family gets pardons. Maybe not the 7th grandchild though.
Now it is out of the hands of the delegates and in the hands of the DNC, just like they did for Torricelli. Here comes Big Mike and it is considered an even swap for Heels-up, the gender and melatonin purportedly the same.
Here comes Obama’s 4th term. No objection from the staff because they simply continue doing what they are doing. That would be an issue if it was anyone but Mike.
No way. Now that you mention it; I don’t think the Obamas are THAT foolish.
