Houthi Rebels is not an insult. It is a misname used to make us sympathetic towards them. We were the rebels in the Revolutionary War. Luke Skywalker was a rebel against The Empire. Rebels are the underdogs and we love underdogs. This is spot-on. It's why das Propagandaministerium made sure that our opponents in Iraq got tagged as "insurgents", and not, "rebels" (or worse, "the Resistance").

Revolutionaries are referred to as “patriots”, not rebels. The civil war southerners are called Rebels even today. Star Wars is a movie. Hardly a source.
“Rebel” is used to imply they are antagonists against a legit government. That’s why the word is used routinely when killing Arabs the west hasn’t pocketed.
