Despair Settles into the Never Trump World

I’m all for raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens, but my favorite thing in the world is watching the smug fascists in the Never Trump movement deal with failure and despair.
Oh, Jonah “Fauntleroy” Goldberg’s having a bad day? In the Nolte household, that piece of news ranks right up there with cream-colored ponies and crisp apple strudels.
“‘Never Trumpers’ are close to giving up hope,” reads the Hill headline. Knowing Never Trumpers are giving up hope means you can keep your bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens.
It gets better, so much better…
“Former President Trump is on the cusp of becoming the GOP’s presumptive nominee for the third time,” reports the Hill. “It’s a scenario that leaves the band of conservatives opposed to him appalled — and deeply pessimistic about the future of the party.”
“It’s his party, plain and simple. I’m not a fan of his, but it’s a MAGA party now, and he’s the leader of that,” said former Rep. Joe Walsh (R-Ill.), who mounted a long-shot primary challenge to Trump in 2020 and left the GOP soon afterward.
“This party cannot be reformed, cannot be fixed. It’s on the track it’s on,” Walsh acknowledged. “I don’t see, in my lifetime, it getting off this track.”
Loser says what?
“The party needs to burn to the ground and rebuild itself,” Never Trumper Susan Del Percio told the Hill. “It’s not going to happen in two years.”

A word of caution - despair often leads to desperation and then to desperate (illegal) acts. As the liberal hive mind comes to the realization that they will loose, the chances of attacks against those they perceive as being the enemy go up.
Stay safe.

“The party needs to burn to the ground and rebuild itself,” Never Trumper Susan Del Percio told the Hill. “It’s not going to happen in two years.” It does need to be and replaced by a party that represents its base.
The Republican establishment is comprised elitists and special interests whose priorities -- running up more debt, open borders and using our foreign policy to enrich themselves -- are at complete the opposite of party's base.

Translation: The party needs to like open borders, males competing against women in sports, taking away people's guns, gender reassignment surgery and opposite sex hormones to minors, abortion including late term, targeting of conservatives by the FBI/DOJ, forcing people to take vaccines that don't work, forcing people to wear masks that don't work, shifting all our manufacturing to to China, doing something or other about the non-existent climate emergency (but it's not clear what), etc. etc.

Long way to go before spiking the football. No. 1 rule in campaigns... always think you are behind fighting against a corrupt system (Of course intellectually enumerating the corruption). People like fighters/underdogs, not uppity conceited elitists. Attack direct issues affecting life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness and how your opponent (Add Press/propaganda outlets as well) bring forth misery upon your well being along with future generations.

Yes. Keep seeing the fake news urinalysts using “conservative” to mean all republicans.
Maddening. I identify as a conservative, damn sure not a modern day republican.
