Representative Thomas Massie (R-KY), a surrogate for Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL), said on this week’s broadcast of “Fox News Sunday” that former President Donald Trump’s multiple indictments would “ripen into convictions.”
Massie said, “You know, the main thing I hear from people back home is there mad that nobody’s held accountable in Washington DC. I think we need to hold Trump accountable. snip
The lawsuit itself is ridiculous, but the underlying facts aren’t disputed, and I think people are going to kind of recoil from that when all that stuff starts coming out this summer. And the polls that show him beating Biden, those are going to switch very quickly.”

Endorsing him when you are a sitting member of Congress, though, was a major unforced error that has no upside for you … because DeSantis was never going to be nominated in 2024.

There might be a conviction in one of the hostile locales, but most of the cases are either going to be ground to a halt with motions or in the appeal process.

One would think that the GOP representatives would be more concerned with holding Biden and his administration accountable for the harm they have brought to the nation over the past few years.
However, you would be wrong.
Massie is just an example of the GOP establishment members who worked behind the scenes to derail Trump’s policies during his Presidency. It is amazing how much he managed to get done during those four years (even accounting for the Covid scam in the final few months). Many people forget that fact.
Trump had the Democrats, GOP establishment, and every bureaucratic agency plotting against him and his supporters, and STILL managed to undo a lot of the harm of the prior 8 years under Obama. And yet we have those such as Massie talking the Democrat line of b.s. and re-writing history to benefit the left.
NY - civil (any loss should be reimbursed by Congress from NYS revenue sharing)

GA - conviction of the prosecutor, hopefully!
