'Incredibly stark': Biden aides give lawmakers a grim assessment of Ukraine without more aid

WASHINGTON — President Joe Biden’s top aides bluntly told lawmakers in a private meeting on Wednesday that if Congress fails to authorize additional military aid for Ukraine in the coming days, Russia could win the war in a matter of weeks — months at best, according to two people familiar with the meeting.

National security adviser Jake Sullivan and the Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines told the lawmakers that Ukraine will run out of certain air defense and artillery capabilities in the coming weeks, according to the people familiar with the meeting.

The grim assessment, which one White House official described as “incredibly stark,” was delivered as the future of Ukraine aid has never been more uncertain. It also comes as White House officials are increasingly alarmed at the prospect of Biden failing to follow through with his promise that the U.S. will be there for Kyiv “as long as it takes.”

In Wednesday’s meeting at the White House, Sullivan and Haines gave the top congressional leaders a classified time frame for when Ukraine’s key military resources will be significantly depleted, and a detailed assessment of the current dynamics on the battlefield, the two people familiar with the meeting said.

Zelensky will never agree to a cease fire and peace talks until he is cut off. And he must know and understand he has to give up the pro-Russian populated eastern oblasts - those east of the Dnieper River.

I’ve come to the conclusion Joe biden does not care about anyone except himself.
If he is still wanting to send $$$$ to Ukraine, it’s not out of a good intention.. Our border is still open and the damage by having 8 million who knows what walk.Swim right in.
If eukrane is still his request.. There has to be another reason... Money laundering.. Child trafficking.. Do ya reckon?

--- "None of these people cares what happens to Ukraine. They just want to blame Republicans for the fall."

It seems correct on bot counts. From the Nuland-Pyatt debacle ("f**k Europe") and going forward, one finds disclosures coming in "dribs and drabs."

Here, as one example and courtesy of a somewhat weird machine translation, is an excerpt from the Swedish press, not covered here in the states:

SVT's Ukraine expert cow ducks [ machine translation through the browser ] – no longer believes in war profits
Published 12/2023

Lieutenant Colonel Joakim Paasikivi has long been the media and, not least, the most frequently employed by the State Television expert to convey assessments of how the war between Russia and Ukraine is going. In his, as many, he has unrealistic belief that Ukraine should prevail compared to "Baghdad Bob”. Now Paasikivi releases the optimistic facade and changes foot.

For periods, the Swedish TV viewers have seen Paasikivi almost every night in SVT Current and / or Report confidently promise that Ukraine will give the Russian bear on the coat. A handful of military successes for the Ukrainian defense at the beginning of the war had to serve as a basis even for the continued assessments, even when things started to get worse.

Today, the fact is that the front lines have been standing still for a long time and the heated ” summer offensive ” failed while the war continued to cost human life and money and create great havoc. Many assessor and the ordinary the man and the woman on the street who do not engage in wishful thinking or have their own political interests in the conflict now lean on Russia to emerge victorious from the war.

What could change this would be if NATO instead of waging proxy war against Russia through Ukraine today would declare regular war on Putin. However, it would have enormous consequences that far exceed those of a Russian profit in Ukraine and a return in the country to a more Russia-friendly attitude would mean security policy.

Former optimist now more pessimistic

And now also the greatest Ukraine optimist of all, Joakim Paasikivi, joins, to the increasingly dominant assessment that around half a million Russian and Ukrainian soldiers and at least 10,000 civilian Ukrainians from that perspective may have died in vain while large parts of Ukraine are located in ruins.

– It looks darker now. I thought the [Ukrainian military forces] would be better, he admits in an interview with SvD.

SVT:s Ukraina-expert kovänder - tror inte längre på krigsvinst

Facebook version

One finds in other European press views in both directions, 'stirring the pot for war', and also suggesting 'stirring the pot for war' is wildly foolish.

Ultimately, at the end of the Ukraine-Russia war, no matter how it turns out, there will have to be some kind of reconciliation, even if only to some kind of "DMZ" model.

Ukraine is not and has never been our problem. It is a problem for the Rat party and their CIA friends due to illegal bioweapons labs there. It is a fake problem for Europe. My understanding is the Ukraine has significant lithium deposits which Europe wants to support their fantasy EV dreams.

Therefore, my opinion is Russia and Europe are fighting over issues of EV raw materials and illegal bioweapon labs. Not a concern of the US, not worth a thin dime. Spending hundreds of billions of dollars we do not have in yet another pointless proxy war is speeding up the end of the US. It all comes down to corruption.

Joe Biden is a gangster. If Ukraine dies. Then Ukraine dies.

If Ukraine dies then it's the fault of the geniuses that insisted on pushing NATO up to the Russian border in defiance of longstanding agreements and then refusing to even talk about the inflammatory situation with Russia even once. They dared Putin to make a move an he did, then they doubled down on the no negotiation strategy.

And Ukraine is bleeding out because of it.

Blackmail. When one has the "receipts" on corruption -- and especially when those receipts may be held in secure "locations" not easily accessible to the "marks," those marks will be amenable to paying with "other people's money."

I don't not mean the Bidens alone. I suspect that many more have been involved in the money laundering games. We should not forget Burisma, and the involvement not only of the Bidens, but also the Pelosis, Kerrys and some bunch of Romney and related characters. And my suspicion is that there is on this list also a certain number of prominent European "leaders" whose involvement would prove most embarrassing.

This is shocking. I fully expected the people pushing for more aid for Ukraine to go into Congress and tell them

“don’t sweat it, not urgent. Aid, no aid, things will be just fine.”

Aides gave the briefing? More like lobbyists.

The empire is corrupt at its center, no longer understands power because its inner councils are dominated by people who confuse the two, is chased out of desolate corners of the planet by goatherds with rifles, abandoning billions in assets, and will finally die once Ukraine falls.

I don’t see a problem with this.

FYI, here is what I reported on a previous post:

Here is what the web says when I queried how much money is missing:

According to the web search results, the United States has sent over $76 billion in funding and equipment to Ukraine through military, economic, and humanitarian aid since Russia’s invasion in 2022. The U.S. is the largest donor of aid to Ukraine, followed by the European Union, which has pledged about $50 billion. However, some of the aid packages have faced political delays and controversies in both the U.S. and the EU.
The $76 billion that the U.S. has sent to Ukraine is not missing, but it was overestimated due to accounting errors by the Pentagon. The Pentagon discovered that it had used the wrong method to calculate the value of the equipment it had sent to Ukraine in 2022 and 2023, resulting in an overvaluation of $6.2 billion. The Pentagon has corrected the errors and issued new guidance on how to properly value the equipment. The $6.2 billion will be added back to the future aid packages for Ukraine.

I am reminded by the old saying “Figures never lie, but liars figure.” Btw, I don’t believe in ‘finding’ 6 billion in equipment with ‘better accounting’. The prisons are filled with embezzlers who used ‘better accounting’ to enrich themselves. And Trump has the audacity to suggest that maybe even some Congress critters are enriching themselves. That is a new concept that has been used by the Military Industrial Complex since World War II.

Over one hundred billion dollars. How is more cash going to win a war?

It won't, but the kickbacks will help the Biden Crime Family - Hunter needs cash for blow, whores and his attorneys, and Traitor Joe has four mansions to maintain.

Yes, but the Bidens are not alone in the international graft scheme involving Ukraine. Win, lose or draw, Ukraine is getting pushed towards a political union with Poland. That will pressure the puppet regime in Belarus, especially if Putin falls from power. Things are quite interesting in the region for anyone who knows its long history.
