A compromise between Dems and Republicans works this way: Democrats promise something in the future which they never live up to. Republicans give in on the actual agreement. Conservative Republicans in this country have almost no representation in DC at all.

We’re about to see a so-called Republican turn into a RINO. I hope Johnson doesn’t fall for this. Surely he’s smart enough to know the RATS are lying.

If Johnson stabs the GOP in the back, he deserves to lose the Speakership, and the GOP House deserves to lose it as well. They keep putting people in that chair that not only deal with Democrats but hurt America. (Well, that’s sort of the same thing.)

The famous incident involving trusting a Democrat—
GHW Bush meet with Dems and was promised that the 1990 budget’s tax deal including higher taxes was by their mutual consent and the Dems would back Bush up since he had to go back on his “no new taxes” pledge.

He came outside to announce the deal to the press. Then the Dems lied and said the higher taxes were entirely Bush’s idea and they pleaded with him to not do it. Knife in the back.

They promised McCarthy the same deal. McCarthy took it. They had lied to McCarthy. Will Johnson be a sucker too? Well, he’s already caved so he could go home for the weekend. He’s weak.

Good question. I thought Sean Penn was the democrats’ “bailout czar.”

Johnson was making a theological point about how everything was God’s will. He was responding to a reporter who asked him about previously saying that he had become speaker by God’s hand.

This is a pretty standard Christian doctrine. Just because a ruler is in place at the Lord’s hand, it does not me that He approves of the person.
