DeSantis’ spending is likely far more than other competitors if direct spending in Iowa is considered and not merely ad spend. Business Insider didn’t include this in our analysis, but few campaigns devoted more attention to Iowa than the Florida governor. He made it a point to highlight that he visited each of Iowa’s 99 counties. Despite his lengthy slog, DeSantis is not currently projected to have won a single county in the state.

I lost to Trump in Iowa by a somewhat similar margin, but I spent nothing.

The amount of money DeSantis and Niki are wasting on this effort is criminal. Every nickel of it should be used to defeat Biden and Democrats.

Heck, for $1500, folks in the ghetto would have voted for him at least 10 times.

Nikki Haley spent 32M and got LESS votes than DeStantis who spent 30M.

Trump spent 12M or so.

If he’d have paid them direct, he probably could have gotten three times the number of votes for 1/3 the cost.

They better do an audit on the Florida Governor’s office expense accounts. The guy doesn’t know how to shop wisely.

Trump and his allies spent nearly $18.5 million on advertising in Iowa through January 15 ... Former UN ambassador Nikki Haley and her broader operation spent roughly $37 million through that same period.

And basically 100% of all that money, over $50M, went solely into attack ads against DeSantis.

Trump and Haley never attacked each other, at all.
