Donald Trump defamation trial live updates: Judge snaps at ex-prez as rumors swirl over mysterious red marks on his hands

Former President Donald Trump turned up in Manhattan federal court Wednesday for a second day in a row, as a jury is set to decide how much he must pay in damages to E. Jean Carroll, after he was found liable last year of both defaming the magazine writer in 2022, and sexually abusing her in the ’90s.

The “Ask E. Jean” columnist is asking for more than $10 million in damages. That’s on top of $5 million that jurors last spring ordered Trump to cough up.

*** Donald Trump threw his hands in the air and said he'd "love it" if Judge Lewis Kaplan made good on threats to throw the former president out of the courtroom.

A tense exchange between the jurist and Trump ensued after the 45th president -- who was warned earlier Wednesday to "keep his voice down" -- was accused by E. Jean Carroll's lawyer of speaking loudly about Carroll again within earshot of jurors.

"Mr. Trump has a right to be present here but that right can be forfeited if he is disruptive … or disregards our orders," Kaplan warned.

Carroll's lawyers told the judge that the real estate tycoon said, "It is a witch hunt. It really is a con job" -- despite Kaplan's earlier warning.

"Mr. Trump, I hope I don't have to --" Kaplan started to say before Trump cut him off.

"I would love it. I would love it," Trump taunted, before throwing his hands in the air.

"I understand that you are probably very eager for me to do that," Kaplan said. "I know you would like that, because you just can't control yourself in this circumstance, apparently."

"You can't either," Trump shot back. ***

So you think things are going well for Trump in court, and he should keep coming back, and pressing his luck with the judge, if not defame the woman some more? Or are you actually agreeing with me, but you just don’t like to see anyone write anything that’s not 100% flattering of Trump? Seriously asking, to keep this discussion on point, and away from personal attacks. Thanks.

I agree Trump needs to exit the trial. I do not agree that he needs to keep his mouth shut.

This woman was so ugly, I bet Trump wouldn’t have taken $5 million to assault her!

You're right about that BUT.. I suspicion someone, or someones, are PAYING her a lot to try and "railroad" Trump with her phony accusations.

I saw headline, I think about E. Jean, that said she is associated with some LolitaExpress visitor. Getting money from, maybe. If anyone wants to inform me briefly if I’m correct, I’d appreciate it.

Well, it looks looks like he’s thankfully decided not to come back to the trail today, which would have been a terrible mistake, whether you wanted him to or not.
